Beowulf
Heros…..they save the world and fight crime for justice. What are actual traits they have to have to make them a hero? Well a couple would be strength, bravery/courage, and a sense of justice. These 3 traits are all involved in modern day heros. People all the way to when beowulf was around are still getting inspired by these quotes. In the poem beowulf these traits are also very relevant in today's modern day heros.
The first trait that is still very relevant in todays heros is strength. Now it is very clear and obvious that most heroes have super strength. Well the same thing goes for the poem beowulf. Beowulf is a anglo saxon character that has super strength. “Follower and the Strongest of the Geats-greater and stronger than anyone anywhere in this world...” (110-111). This quote is from the actual poem beowulf. This clearly shows how beowulf is stronger than life in his poem. Another quote that shows how beowulf is stronger than life is “And care about nothing else! He raised his arms and seized her at the shoulder; anger doubled his strength.” (509-511). …show more content…
Now if you ever watched any of the marvel movies or batman movies you have saw that the heros are very brave. They go at danger like its nothing. Beowulf also amplifies this trait in heros too. He runs at danger with his hands held high and ready to fight.“Then he ran to his king, crying encouragement as he drove through the dragon's deadly fumes.” (773-774). This quote is from a scene in beowulf. This shows you how brave and courageous beowulf actually is. This also show how much bravery and courage is amplified in the poems. There is multiple other scenes in the actual poem that show how brave and courageous he really
