What Role Does The Witch Play In Macbeth

The witch’s lead Macbeth into deceiving himself by believing he could become an effective ruler and seize the throne. When the witches say he will become king, Macbeth automatically assumes that means he will be successful. He believes no one will mourn the loss of King Duncan and his death will be a small price to pay for the crown. That deception of mind cost him his life. Macbeth also believed he was fit for the crown due to his victory in battle, however as we see in following scenes, Macbeth begins to go mad. He begins to deceive himself so much that he loses his mind. He begins to see things and kill many others to “save himself” His mind becomes weak and so does his ability to properly rule his people. When he assumed the throne, he
assumed the crown would be easily managed. He did not expect the hardships that would come with many murders to cover up his sins in order for him to stay king. His self-reliance proved false time after time, all because of one little prediction.
