Not many people ask the question “What is Google?” Google itself has changed millions on millions of people’s lives on how they think and interact with other citizens in their daily activities. Gone are the days of going to a public library to research a topic for an essay but now come the days where users are not sure to trust a certain webpage that holds the information they are looking for. “I don’t know the answer to that question so I’ll just Google it.” This simple search engine has turned into a commonly used word/phrase that is a part of our everyday vocabulary. Google has made it beyond easy for younger generations to gain the information they so desire for whatever the reasons may be, although, is this really making them smarter?
Many users around the world will tell each other to just ‘Google it’. This common phrase has sparked a change in the way we think and react to ones thoughts. With Google at almost anyone’s use provided they have a computer and internet access, can find whatever they want whenever they want. Not many people tend to put effort into solving problems whether it is with family or friends or even a simple math equation, everyone tends to look to Google for advice. As people rely more on what others have to think on their situation, they lose touch with themselves and how they would react in a certain situation because there are millions of people to tell them what they should or should not do. Although most adults have the will power to decide on a more logical approach, a lot of students tend to take the easy way out.
