Topic: What was the best gift that you have given or received? What make this gift special?

“The only way that you can ever know if something is of value to you is by the way it feels as you are receiving it”. We all would like to have a gift, even if the gift is invaluable or inexpensive; it also brings for all of us happiness and respectability. To me, the day I gave birth to my son is the gift I have received which changed my life forever. No word can describe how special my gift means to me. As someone quotes: “Somebody said that a child is carried in its mother’s womb for 9 months. Somebody does not know that a child is carried in its mother’s heart forever”. When he entered this world with the first sound of his crying, I knew that we blended for life. God brought my son to me as a non material gift. It was amazing while I was pregnant, the movement inside the womb, the kicks when he heard a noise…My pregnancy was difficulty but I really enjoyed it. This gift made me stop and realize how precious and special life truly is. My house is filled full with his smiles, kisses, hugs, laughs, and love…I cannot imagine what my life would be like without him. He is truly a gift. He means the world to me. I am very proud to have him in my life. Sometimes I get too much depression because of real life; I look at him, and forget what I have been though. He makes me laugh and reminds me to slow down and enjoy life. He is a miracle that makes my life happier. On the other hand, I do not have time for myself; I work harder to raise him. For example; I always wake up in the middle of the night because he is crying. Over all, even if I knew how difficult it was being, I will do anything I can do for him to become a good person. Gifts are something that are unforgettable and love the person who gives it to you. Gifts can bring people closer together. I thank God everyday for giving me this wonderful gift. No gift that I ever received in my life can compare to this .My son is truly a special gift to me.

The Simple Gift, a novel by Steven Herrick, is based on the journey of a teenage boy named Billy. The book highlights that material possessions are not all that matters, and that often it is a sense of belonging that really shines through during desperate times. Sometimes money even if earnt can be valueless, freedom can be found easier if you lack physical possessions, and simply letting go of the past and leaving it behind can lead to you finding happiness through better, stronger relationships.…

When I was younger, I always wanted a Barbie dollhouse. The Barbie dollhouse was expensive and at least worth a hundred dollars. For my birthday, my parents decided to give me that very Barbie dollhouse. Of course, I was happy but I was only happy for a quick minute and before I knew it, I didn’t know what item I wanted next. This is a situation that many people this day in age face, where they receive something and they don’t know what to do. But, these possessions also have a negative impact on people.…

However, I realized last year that I prefer something else even more: the giving of gifts. When I buy somebody I love a gift, I get giddy just thinking about giving it to them. I can rarely wait until the occasion (birthday, holiday, etc.) and usually end up telling them what it is or giving it them before the date I originally desired. And this extends to every kind of gift. Whether it is a surprise expensive concert ticket to my best friend’s favorite artist, or even a candy bar that I bought for someone to give in class, I get so happy and feel so fulfilled in giving gifts. For me, it is helping me express to the person that I think about them. It is easy to think about somebody when you’re with them, but when you’re thinking of little gifts to give them when you’re away, it shows even a greater love to me. So when I go to the store or I’m in places where there are things to purchase, I am often thinking of others and seeing if they would like anything there. It doesn’t only extend to purchasing, but I love to make things for people. Before I left on my mission, I made my mother a book for Christmas. I asked almost everyone that knew her to write a short letter expressing a memory or reason why they loved her. I was ecstatic every time I received a new letter, and there ended up being dozens of pages in this book. This gift required a lot of time, and I…

First and foremost, I am grateful for my family. On occasion I complain about their antics, but I truly appreciate all that they have done for me. My parent's generosity has paid for my college, and my siblings are always there for me. Additionally I would like to include my animals because they continually make me smile every day. The dogs constantly wag their tails even when they are being scolded, and watching the turkeys run like dinosaurs is quite amusing. Another noteworthy thing to mention is today’s entertainment. Spending time with family and friends, watching a movie or playing a video are some of the best parts of my weekend. All of this and more I am grateful for; but I think the greatest gift I am thankful for is being alive to…

In conclusion “The Giving Tree” teaches lifelong lessons such as “It’s better to give than to receive” and “Material objects don't bring happiness as much as emotions do” This book also teaches us not to turn our backs on those who helped us the most, as the boy got older he wanted more and more from the tree and he never even said thank you. So take a moment, appreciate your parents for all they’ve done for you, go and thank them. Because they won’t be there forever, and you’ll miss them when they’re…

Often enough people do not purchase gifts by creating material objects to give as gifts. Alas they use printed bills to show their affection on celebrated days. Often people do not know what really makes them happy (Myers). Money may not bring others happiness; however, but to certain people it may not matter. After all they were just giving to give to feel the joy from another (Goodwin). Reflecting on one's own emotions from the past, recall the times of having given or received and how they made you feel. From personal experience when giving small tokens of one’s own appreciation to another; this had major influences in their life. An inner piece has always taken residence in myself after the fact. Breathing as though mint gas were pumped directly out of my esophagus . Spinal cord tingling with the enthusiasm waiting to spring forth moments prior to giving the specially selected prize. Giving is an interpersonal mandate to developing relationships (Myers). This act carries an extreme quantity of emotional pull but what does it do to a person's self-worth (Goodwin). Excessive giving is a burden which will wither the giver as he advances on a seemingly endless goal. Self understanding can be summarized in “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” by Mahatma Gandhi. A silver lining has always been drawn over proper…
