What I Did on My Summer Vacation

Summer Vacation Summer vacation is probably the happiest period in a student's life. During the hot dreaded summer of twenty twelve, I experience many things to look back on like every other summer. Overall my summer was filled with happiness and was joyful. I enjoy fresh air, listening to great music, and maybe just think about anything. This summer was the best summer I’ve had so far, for many reasons. I look at summer to be a time to enjoy the beach with your friends, festivals to let loose, and surrounding yourself in good environments that bring good vibes. Being at the beach during the summer is like snowboarding at the mountains in the beautiful winter scenery, and I love snowboarding. All my friend’s and I go to the beach about every day we can, just to kick back and enjoy the refreshing water. There is nothing like a cool down on a hot summer day. Flip tricks are really fun, I could be stuck at the pier all day and I wouldn’t mind at all. There is not much to do in this small town known as Whitehall, Michigan and I’m grateful for the clean beautiful great lakes we have to enjoy. The Electric Forest Festival is a four-day electronic music, eclectic genre music festival in Rothbury, Michigan at the Double JJ Resort. This was the first festival I’ve ever been to, and it changed my life really. Nothing can compare to the feeling and the atmosphere it feeds off to you. I will be attending Electric Forest next summer to wonder in the forest and make more great memories to look back on. This type of experience is necessary for anybody and everybody, I suggest it to you. Summer brought me to some good and bad places. I enjoy surrounding myself with good people to enjoy the summer vacation together, and put myself in good environments. Didn’t matter what I was doing, or if I was bored, I enjoyed being in good positions. I had great friends, still do, and my best friend was my skateboard and my headphones to

At first it seemed as if my summer was never going to end. I was spending up to eight hours a day learning material. I had made friends around my grandparents neighborhood, which made my time miserable. Not to mention they lived next to a beautiful park. My parents were insistent on me spending my time with my books, which ultimately payed off in the end. At the end of summer I was reading two…

I didn’t really do much over the summer. We went to Indiana beach, and I am not too fond of roller coasters, or any ride for that matter, except for at water parks. Last year in 7th grade we went to Washington D.C and saw the washington monument, lincoln memorial, we went inside the Capitol building, The Changing of the Guard at Arlington cemetery, saw The White House. That didn’t really interest me, I don’t even have any souvenirs! Even earlier in the year, we went to Buffalo, New York. We saw a football game (the team we were rooting for lost,(TO THE JETS!) and we got to see Niagara Falls.…

The feel of 80 degree temperature, the sound of splashing water, and a super long car ride? Everything but the car ride was awesome! On my spring break this year we took a very long and boring car trip down to Arizona. It was a 18+ hour car trip just going there! I mostly slept and read the way there. First, we visited Arizona state and Arizona University. Then, we stayed at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house. But, what I mostly liked about my spring break was in Arizona there was 80-90 degree temperatures!…

Summer is a season where individuals can experience activities like camping, hiking, swimming, traveling, etc. However it’s difficult for students to come across these events if there is school all year long. With one month in the summer, there is close to nothing that can be accomplished. A mom of five says, “Growing pains and lessons are learned through summer jobs, programs and freedom with friends” (Butler 1). Kids are only kids till they turn 18. Adolescents need their own free time to explore beyond education since, “A child’s life is not just school” (1). In school, teachers always mention “the real world”, and teens today often apply for summer jobs. Taking their summer away will only take away their chance to experience this “real world” they occasionally talk about. When a student is constantly being blocked by school from experiencing hardships, freedom, independence, or responsibilities, they won’t get the chance to familiarize with the rest of the…

Writing does not happen like it does in fiction, with inspirational background music, and a sudden appearance of a beautiful Greek muse. "Writing is easy. You only need to stare at a blank piece of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead.” (Gene Fowler). People do not sit for hours in front of a computer screen, fighting with a word-processer’s grammar, because it is fun. Writing can be either worse than the fires from Dante’s famous inferno or more lovely than true love, but, in either case, often a needed explosion of brain cells. For me, forming meaning from what started out as inscriptions on cave walls is more than creating…

Another reason summer is my favorite season is because there is no school. School can be fun sometimes but it is always nice to have a 3 month break. You don't have to worry about school and or anything. You can just forget all about school and have fun during the summer. Summer is also a great way to make new friends. You can hang out with different people ever night. So if you have never meet someone and you hang out with them. You could maybe become best friends just by hanging out with them. Iowa is great for…

Summer 2010 was great for me. I did a lot of stuff this summer and hung out with a lot of friends but the highlight was riding to Wasco every Saturday morning. I would meet up with Chris Impson and we would usually hang out for the whole day. I live in St. Charles so I would have a 8 mile ride down there and sometimes we would ride bikes all the way back to my house so it was quite the work out. Other days I would ride my bike to Wasco and meet up with Christopher then ride to another friends house and spend the day there. I am really satisfied with the way my summer went. I did more than just saw friends though, I went to Wisconsin, spent a week in Missouri by myself, and rode dirt bikes on our farm. While I was in Missouri I did a lot like help my Grandpa out and played a lot of baseball.…
