The challenging part this week was making sure the program will work as expected. Everything had to be covered in a unique way and as we know we all have different ways to do things especially when it comes to code creation, not an easy task, but at the end I believe accomplishment was reached.…
In the Chapter One of the book “Half the Sky,” published in 2009, the authors Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn mainly argue about modern sex slavery and other nations’ assistance for women education in poor countries.…
This week was little easier for me than the previous weeks. Bonds have always been confusing to me, and I am still a little confused about them. It was interesting to me to learn about the different types of payroll deductions. I never actually knew what took place in payroll departments, so that cleared quite a bit for me. Another thing I never knew was what happened when you use a credit card at a store, now I know that the store records the transaction…
The assignment that I learned the most from was the Week Two assignment about the digestive system. I now understand how the body uses the different types of food, the path food takes as it enters the body, and how the organs, including the salivary glands work together in the digestive process. However, my favorite part of Week Two came through the class discussions in the area of home remedies. I learned how a change in diet can prevent or help to cure digestive disorders. For example, Diverticulus can be treated at home by drinking plenty of fluid and eating fiber rich foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc. I enjoyed this part the most because I was forced to take medicine for an extended period of time and I really did not enjoy that experience. Therefore, learning natural ways to bring relief was truly refreshing for me.…
I have accomplished a great deal in the past three months. As the semester ends I find myself reflecting not only on how I have survived the first semester but also what I have learned. Writing is hard work. There is so much more to it than just writing an interesting story. I also learned another important lesson; just because I worked hard on an essay before presenting it and reviewed the daylights out of it did not mean it was ready for submission. Every time I went back to read it I found new changes, typos and other mistakes I had missed before.…
The things I learned from this experience are not solely related to the musical. I learned that musicals, and not understanding the arts very well, is a great way to bond with people. You can basically bond with someone over anything, granted after that experience you might not talk to them again, but it creates the opportunity for friendship. The arts in general create strong relationships…
This week included much activity with meetings, rain and the storm that never happened. Monday began with a Right on Crime communications meeting. It was interesting to sit through and hear what all was going on throughout the RoC organization. Then I went back to my desk to try and finish out the TPPF communications project I had been working on since Thursday. After lunch, I was informed about another weekly meeting with RoC, the policy call was also informative and I learned about what some of our signatories are doing in their states and areas. Following that Call, I finished out the day by finishing the communications project. Tuesday started out ordinary and I was able to finally begin the reading for the Thinking Economically class. Then it was time…
Over the course of this summer semester I have been exposed to many new learning experiences and opportunities. I am most thankful for the supervisor that I had at my agency, and the group of students that I have worked with this summer. This summary will be a rap out/ outline of some of the things that I have participated in this summer. I attended my agency four days out of the week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and on Fridays. On Wednesdays I participated…
Throughout this week I have experienced many mixed emotions. On Tuesday I came to class extremely exhausted so I took a 5 minute power nap: I woke up confused and overwhelmed. Luckily Prof. Aran took a short break, but I still struggled to catch up on what I missed. On Wednesday I got up early to begin my rhetorical analysis and study the math problems I did not understand. It was a great feeling to come to class and know exactly what was going on. After class I joined a math study group which made me feel even more confident about my math exam approaching quickly. On Thursday I finished my first assignment with 10 hours to spare. My Rhetorical Analysis paper was very challenging to write, but I dedicated 2 hours a night and finished the…
I would manage my study time more wisely therefore I can be able to accomplish what all is needed to be done such as assignments, discussion questions and exams. If I have any distractions that may occur I can still get all of my work completed because I developed a schedule and managed my time in a timely manner. Another suggestion I may use towards this week into my study time would to collaborate with others. If I seek ideas from other students I may have a better understanding on what I am being asked if I am stuck on a question or needing more insight on the readings.…
This is my first week of ENG 105 and so far I’m nervous that how am I going to be able to balance my two classes with my work in the Marine Corps, this week it was ok keeping in mind my personal opinion about writing/reading, the reading for this week somewhat showed me what to expect for the 7 weeks left with this class and since this is an English class I’m sure there will be a lot of essays involved.…
My director pushed me harder than I had ever been pushed. I had to work more than I ever had in my life. I realized that not everything throughout my dance career would be handed to me like it had been in the past. Starting the season on the sideline was not what I planned, but taught me to work hard and that I needed to put forth more effort to accomplish my…
There are many values which have been instilled in me from playing football and that will always be a part of me, specifically effort. I believe effort is timeless, it’s something that you learn at some point, and used for the rest of your life.…
