Basketball (Nature)
My favorite leisure activity is playing, watching, reading, really anything to do with basketball. Basketball is by far my favorite thing in the world. A basketball court is where I feel most at home, and it is the one place on earth I can be where I know what I’m doing and what I’m talking about. It’s fairly popular in the US (it’s the playoffs right now), and its athletes are extremely polarizing and recognizable, because it’s the one sport where an athlete's face is always exposed, not covered up by a football helmet, baseball cap, or hockey mask. My favorite time and place is anywhere and anytime. I prefer indoors, although it can be played outdoors, and some even prefer it that way. The classic way that people play is often in a driveway at home, but the best is always against someone on a court. I started playing basketball because of my original favorite player, Shaquille O’Neal. He was a huge, unstoppable guy. One who was able to do the things that the smaller players’ did. So one day, when I was 11-years old, I decided to go outside to the family basketball hoop and take a shot. The basket was originally for my sister, so this was my first time ever shooting a basketball. I will never forget that the first shot I ever took was a perfect, nothing but net. Swish. It felt amazing, and I’ve been in love with this sport ever since.
Visual Learner (Nature)
One strength of visual learners lies in visualizing and imagining different situations. Visual strategies are used to remember specific information. Visual learners also tend to take in the whole picture when encountering a problem or discussion, as opposed to one smaller part of the issue. Visual learners also gain pleasure from more creative applications of learning that requires vision, such as painting and art. Visual learners tend to take in the entire picture and therefore sense any aspect of the picture that is out of alignment. Visual learners tend to have great organizational skills, especially where images or appearances are concerned, such as interior decorating and color coding. Also, visual learners can rotate images or create mirrored images in their minds, making them adept at arranging and fixing things.
Left Handed (Nature)
With only about 10% of the population being left handed, lefties are a serious minority. While they’ve endured a serious amount of prejudice (the word for left in almost every language has a less than positive connotation) and even aggression over the years, today, many left handed people are proud of their unusual handedness. And why not? After all, they have to survive and thrive in a world designed for those who are right handed. The next time someone teases you about your left handedness, bring up one of these facts that show that being left handed just might be a genetic blessing after all, offering you bigger and better abilities that can help you do everything from get a degree to kick butt at video games. Being left handed is an advantage in many sports. Left handed people adjust more easily to seeing underwater. Southpaw drivers are more successful at learning to drive than right handed people. If driving came easy to you, it might have a good deal to do with your left-handedness. A driving school poll found that 57% of left handers passed their driving test first time compared with only 47% of right handers. This is pretty amazing, considering that most cars are designed with right handed individuals in mind
Is this true in all countries.
Black Skin (Nature)
Both my parents are from Ethiopia; therefore I am 100% Ethiopian, meaning that I also have a black skin tone. My dad has a darker skin tone while my mom has a very light skin tone. Having both those genetics in me I blend to having a light- dark skin tone.

I have been playing basketball basically my whole life, it is has shaped me into the person I am today. I started with just a ball and a hoop in my cousins front yard. I would just chuck the ball at hoop for fun, horsing around with my cousins. In elementary and middle school I would play with my friends at recess shooting around, dribbling in circles for the fun of it. I was even better then most of the boys who would play with my group on the courts. When I entered high school that was when I realized I was truly in love with the game. High school was where it was taken to a whole 'nother level. I was introduced to the real dynamics of the sport, it was where I learned that if I really want to do something that I love I had to put my all into it. I had to prove that I was one-hundred percent committed to the game. Practicing everyday for two hours, and…

Basketball and baseball are the greatest things to ever happen to me. There is not one day where I do not enjoy shooting hoops or hitting home runs. People always say that I should be playing baseball because of how fit and athletic I am, so I tried it out, and it turned out I was pretty good. For basketball it was a different story. People have said that I was way too short, but my first game I scored about twenty points and everyone kept quiet.…

I have always love to play basketball. The swish when you make it just right, and the boom of the basketball hitting the floor “are sounds I love”. When I first started playing basketball, my mom and my couch Richard knew that I was expectational. I played with Richard for a few years, then one day he told us about this newspaper ad he saw for a team named “Eugene Fire”. My mom decided to check it out, so she called the coach, Jim. He said I probably won't make the team, but I believed I could. So I would try anyways.…

In a small, rural town called Arlington in Vermont, playing sports was a normal thing to do. It was nothing special it was just a way to waste time. There were only three sports you could play, soccer, basketball, and baseball. No football, hockey, etc. For me though, I loved the smell of the fresh grass when I was on the soccer field and the basketball courts. I loved when my parents watched me from the sideline and I could hear them cheering me on. It was just the best feeling to have. As I grew up in Vermont I never really knew how a big town or city felt like being in. I was in a school with only 400 kids in the whole high school! There was no loud traffic or packed mall, it was just farms and the pond. You had to make your own fun out of things. That’s why I loved to play sports.…

Many different contexts play a part in forming our identity. Where you live, who you live with, how financially strong you are all contribute to your perception of troubled times. If you live in a slum – like the boys from “Trash” by Andy Mulligan – then your identity, life and perception of troubled times would be different to that of a person from a 1st world country such as Australia. In my essay, I will demonstrate why troubled times differ depending on our contexts. I will explain why our geographical, personal, financial, working and political contexts shape our perception of troubled times…

Since I was 7 years old, basketball has played an integral part of my life. I have devoted countless hours to not just a sport, but a passion, an outlet; to the game that I love. When I arrived at Bow Middle School as a fifth grader, my classmates and I would always look up to the 7th and 8th grade middle school basketball teams. Every year during winter carnival, the boys and girls teams would play a game in front of the entire school. Playing in that game became a dream and a goal of mine, but first I would need to make the team. For three years I developed my basketball skills, using my passion for the sport and desire to play in that game as motivation. When tryouts for basketball in 8th grade drew near, I knew I was ready. However a new coach would be at the helm this year. Our new basketball coach was also a coach for the youth football program. This resulted in numerous football…
