When God Hang Up Research Paper
IF GOD PUTS YOU ON HOLD-DON’T HANG UP

A. INTRODUCTION

1. There is a bumper sticker, “If God puts you on hold—Don’t hang up.”

2. Survey:

a. How many have ever been put on hold?

b. How many have ever gotten mad when you were on hold?

c. How many have hung up?

3. This sermon is about what to do when God puts you on hold.

B. PEOPLE WHO WERE PUT ON HOLD

1. Moses was on hold for forty years on the backside of the desert, before God spoke at the burning bush.

2. David was chased by Saul for sixteen years in the wilderness, before he was crowned King of Judah.

3. Jesus let Lazarus die, then waited before showing up at the cemetery. He kept Mary and Martha waiting four days.

“Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words, but the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days; . . . now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days” (Daniel 10:12-14).

E. WHAT TO DO WHEN GOD HAS YOU ON HOLD

1. Hang in there…don’t hang up. Too often we are impatient when a business puts us on hold, we just hang up. Remember the words of Scripture, “Faithful is He that calleth you who also will do it” (I Thess. 5:24).

2. Find out why you are on hold. God may have you on hold for one of the above reasons. Check them out thoroughly.

3. Last orders are standing orders. Even though we don’t like it, a computer that has us on hold will eventually get to us. We may not like computers, but they are not imperfect like people nor do they get frustrated like people. If God has you on hold, wait patiently for what He has for you.

4. Know what happens when you take your eyes off God. There is usually a 4-step down from fellowship with God.

(1) First doubt causes us to look away from God.
(2) Did we get discouraged with God?
(3) We deny what God has done in the past.
(4) We turn away from

Leah was doing well. Daniel found out about a friendship that she had with a man named Marcus. Daniel found out that Marcus was a Roman soldier, and this enraged him again. He took all of his anger out on Leah. Leah became scared and traumatized again. Daniel sent a friend to find Thacia. When he found Thacia she went and sought out Jesus and Jesus came with her back to Daniel and Leah. Jesus healed Leah and because of that Daniel began to understand that love and forgiveness were far better traits than isolating himself and rage and rebellion. He offered for Marcus to come in to say good-bye to Leah. It was because of Jesus that Daniel learned that hate is the only enemy. Throughout this book Daniel went through a series of trials where he was battling with himself and trying to understand the words repeating in his head that Jesus preached. Little by little, he understands the wrong path that he has taken with isolation, rage and rebellion and finally finds that love and forgiveness are the only way to bend the bow of…

The approach to spiritual discernment that I most closely relate to is the Practitioners of the Relationship-Formation Approach. The factors listed are the fundamental elements that I rely on for practically every decision. I believe that God gives us wisdom. The scriptures tell us to ask for wisdom and He will give it to us. It has been my personal experience that when I have taken the time to ask God for wisdom and waited on Him, He has directed my path. When I have done that, I have also received an inner sense of peace. I believe that the ultimate guide for us to follow as Christians is to parallel his character and ethics. It is my opinion that too many of us rely on factors that detract us from what God purposed for us, like how we should look or appear or what pleases others. Not judging the consistency of our decisions with the character of Christ opens the door to hypocrisy. I personally give my best effort to not be hypocritical. The two other decision making factors that are very important to me are considering the natural gifts and talents that God gave me and acknowledging how those gifts correlate with the needs of those around me. We are called to love God, love one another and serve the world.…

The world is becoming increasingly violent. It seems that no one is safe and no place is beyond the reach of the violence that permeates society. Because crises bring about the need to make many decisions, Christians are afforded opportunities to glorify God by making choices and acting in ways that honor Him. Crisis ministry requires an investment into the lives of others. We must be willing to sacrifice time, money, energy, comfort and belongings. When people around us panic, we must remain calm and trust the sovereignty of God. We must gently lead those in crisis toward Christ and help them to see God’s hand at work in their circumstances. There is never a time when we can simply ignore the situation, look the other way, and “pass by on the other side…

    Standing Tall

We should be firmed to face our trials in life. We should not surrender for it but to find the solution. To every problem arose there is a corresponding solution for it. Only things we do are to find and do what is good. Sometime, the solution is not favourable to ourselves but we need a standing tall for it or else the problem should not be answered. For example, when the doctor had asked us to select the life or death of pregnant woman is either save the mother or her babe. Both sides are difficult to decide, if you save the mother, her babe will die or if you save her babe, the mom will die. If you would not select, both child and the mom will die. We need to think not only twice, thrice but many more to every solution of the problem. God gave us a brain to think. Only just we do to use it wisely or else we are in the loss.…

    Jesus and Law

1.Central Theme: The Law of man is not Faith. We are justified not by the works of the law but by faith. Galatians 3:17-25, And this I say that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, can not annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make promise of no effect. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was made; appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in jesus christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came we were kept under the guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come,we are no longer under a tutor.…
