When I Quit College Essay
I decided to participate in gymnastics once I was about seven years of age. Unfortunately, I felt as if my backflip was not as structured compared to my fellow gymnast, my cartwheel just did not seem refined enough to me, and my reach did not stretch far enough to fit my expectations, so I quit. I began to take an interest in karate at age ten, I felt my crescent kicks were not worthy, so I quit. As a child, almost any activity is interesting besides staying inside of the house all day. I was an active child growing up. I participated in a wide variety of activities for multiple years such as: dancing, karate, cheerleading, and softball. When I entered middle school, I decided it was time to try something new. Basketball tryouts were coming up and I felt like I would enjoy the new experience. I ended up making the team, but halfway into the season I decided basketball was not the sport for me. A couple months later, track posters smothered the hallways encouraging students to join the team. I raced home and mentioned joining the team to my mother who then told me to try it out and see if I liked it. I went to the…

I joined a gymnastics gym near my house in second grade when i was 9, and started competing when i was 10. My mom told me that I have to do well in school if I was going to be focused on a sport along with school, or she would take me out of gymnastics. Soon enough, I wasn’t doing so well in social studies and comm skills. I was scared my mom would make me quit, But I worked as hard as I could so get back up there. Focusing more on school than outside activities, I got that grade back up and I continued with my favorite sport. I love gymnastics, but I don’t let it get in the way of school because school always comes first.…

When at the age of five, my parents began to experiment with and place me in many different activities. The first activity was gymnastics, which was a complete failure. The gym instructor would lift my body to the high bars so I can get a feel for it and in that moment I knew it wasn’t for me. The second activity my parents decided I should try next was track and field. Track was fun at first, I actually like to run and I was pretty fast, I believed. When I joined the track team the season was going to begin soon only giving me three weeks to prepare myself for my first track meet. I trained for a while thinking I was decent ready for what life has to throw at me, then the day of the track meet arrived.…

I was placed on Academic Probation after my freshmen spring semester, I went to College with a new set of freedom I never had before and did not know how to adjust to my new freedom well. I come from a very large blended family and my parents worked very hard to provide for all of us, my mom had worked multiple jobs and was trying to continue her education so she would leave for work very early and would come home very late. That left the cooking, cleaning and tending to my younger brother to me all while I was a high school student, working 2 jobs and playing softball. With all that being said when I got to college I did not focus on school because for the first time in 4 years all I had to worry about was me and that was a strange relief…

Deciding to go back to school seemed like an obvious choice for my career and beyond. I had once enrolled in a class where I physically had to sit in the classroom three days a week.
