During his rule, Peter took extensive reforms in an attempt to make Russia a great nation. Peter overcame hard times from the country's medieval slum and initiated a series of changes that affected all areas of Russian life. He made a strong navy, fixed his army according to Western standards, secularized schools, control over the reactionary Orthodox Church, and introduced new administrative and territorial divisions of the country.( biography.com) In a way he was building a whole new russia. You could not mistake for anyone else if you ever saw. His said to be height was 7ft tall and very loud mouthed,violent and ruthless man he was. He was always eager to learn new things.
