The Taino weren't able to do as much because of their lack of advanced technology in warfare compared to what the Spanish have had. In the Taino document, it states "You failed to fight back against the Spaniards. This meant that you brought the fate of slavery and death upon yourself." The Taino lacked specifically advanced warfare like the pistols, cannons, and horses they have never seen before. They faced the unknown as they were invaded by people they have never seen before. The prosecutor only made it clearer of how unfair the Spaniards were toward the innocent and how they had no chance against the Spanish. Columbus' commands were ruthless and savage as they treated the Taino like creatures. They enslaved the innocent and chopped the hands off when he was unsatisfied with the amount to of gold that they brought to him. The Taino's didn't have the proper unity and warfare in order to attack Columbus and his men. The Taino's didn't unite or even plan to overthrow such invaders. They lacked unity as a group and lacked the technological advancement to overthrow the Spanish invaders. They did not cooperate and withstand the invaders but let them take over and enslave their people and just give up without a fight for freedom. They learn and educate themselves about the difference among cultures. They bared expensive gifts among the explorers, gold, and silver. The Taino's and Columbus had a friendly relationship at the beginning as they got to know each other's culture and lifestyle until Columbus forced change on them. They forced the Taino to change into the Catholic religion and to separate from what they have known almost all of their lives. They could have had a peaceful meeting if they didn’t force so much change for the Taino's at the very beginning. If they have kept a friendly relationship and approached such specific and unknowing matters so slowly, their relationship would have stayed and progressed to a strong alliance. The European lifestyle truly mad violence inevitable. Their sudden intimidating approaches seemed to happen rapidly and the events just happened too much at one time. A lot of changes occurred in a specific, short amount of time. Spain would have a stronger alliance with a tribe from North America making them a stronger and wealthier empire. Spain would seem more powerful because they are the only empire with an alliance that is located in North America making it a stronger empire because of that special relationship.
