For each event/game/contest, the First Place winner will be given 20 points; the 2nd Place winner, 15 points; and the 3rd Place winner, 10 points. 3. In case of a tie, each of the concerned teams will get the same points assigned to the particular winning position (1st, 2nd, or 3rd). If two teams tie for the 1st Place, each will get 20 points; but the next in rank will be declared as only a 3rd Place winner and will be given only 10 points. If, on account of a tie, there are already three or more winners in the 1st Place and 2nd Place, none will be declared a 3rd Place winner. If a tie occurs in the 3rd Place, each concerned team will be awarded 10 points.5. There should be at most only one team per group per event.6. The over-all winners shall be determined by adding the points earned by the members of each group.EGG DROPOBJECT: To provide a container that will protect a raw egg when dropped from an altitude to a hard surface like a concrete flooring.TEAM: Maximum of two (2) members. At least one (1) team member must be assigned to drop the container.APPARATUS: 1. The members of the team must construct the container prior to the contest. 2. Each container must meet the following specifications: a. Maximum mass - 30 g. b. Body size - the container must fit inside a rectangular box 10 cm x 10 cm x 20 cm. c. Parachute - 20 cm x 20 cm x 40 cm. 3. A variety of materials may be used: paper, cardboard, foam materials (like styrofoam), rubber bands, feathers, string, glue, etc. 4. Fins and other aerodynamics paraphernalia may be added. They should not exceed the 10 cm x 10 cm x 20 cm limit before the container

Our plan was to drop an object from a reasonable height and use a ticker tape timer to measure the amount of time and distance travelled between each time. The weight of the object used would have to be heavy enough that it would not be affected by air resistance. For example, you shouldn’t use a piece of paper because due to the surface area and weight of the paper, the fall would be slower which would affect further calculations. However, if you used a weight which was heavy enough, the effect of air resistance would be minimal. For our experiment, we would use several things which would help us gather data so that our calculations would be nearest to the true value of g (acceleration due to gravity). One object which we used was a pulley system. We put a string through the pulley and attached the weight to the string. This supported the object by providing stability so it would fall straight down and not at an angle. If we were to drop it using our hands rather than a pulley, this could increase human error because we would not be able to drop it straight down.…

This experiment was to use kinetics of projectile motion and free falling bodies to determine the distance a ball will travel after it hits a bounce plate. To determine this we had to use the equations x=(1/2)at2 and v=v0+at and derive an equation that will determine the distance the ball will travel based on the height of the bounce plate and the height of where the ball will be dropped above the bounce plate. The equation made was g*(sqrt(2)/sqrt(g))*(sqrt(H)*sqrt(h)). From here we can make an estimate of how far the ball will travel after it hits the bounce plate.…

The first step to conduct this experiment is to set up your ramp, whether it is a pool noodle or flexible pipe insulation. Adjust the ramp to the correct height you chose for this investigation. Next, place the 4 textbooks exactly 84 centimeters from the wall. Then place the cup exactly 40 centimeters from the 4 textbooks. Now it is time to start the actual experiment. Take your marble and place it at the top of the ramp. Let the marble roll to to end of the ramp and record whether or not the marble landed inside of the cup. Repeat these steps adjusting the height of the ramp as you go depending on where the marble lands. The data was used to determine what height was the best for the marble to land inside of the target cup. The data was analyzed by comparing the different heights to the number of times the marble landed in the target…

Think about different materials that are used to make sports balls. Why don’t we use just one type of material for tennis balls, baseballs, and golf balls? Since each ball must behave differently in play, the material making up each one must be different, too. In this experiment, you will characterize how different materials behave when they are dropped.…

    * To construct my project, I first began building the protection chamber for the egg. I glued 4 or 5 sections of paper together to make it sturdy and safe. I made a flap that tucked in so that the egg could not fall out. I then glued more paper together in the shape of a box. There was a base and a lid, sort of like a Christmas present. I put straws around the metal of the axle and glued them onto 4 pieces of straws glued to together. All that was left after that was to glue the box onto the straws connecting the wheels. I then filled it with some scraps of paper so the protection chamber could not move around.…

I choose this experiment because i like doing stuff( projects, experiments.) in sports. I think this is a good experiment is a really fun and it falls good in the topic. I also chose this experiment because i think it’s really easy to do by yourself and i have all the materials to conduct it. i also chose this experiment because i’m kind of like an expert in this topic because i have been in football for like 3 years so i think i know alot about the balls grip and how it affects the length. I think i will help out football players like Qb’s to know if a better grip will help it go farther.…

    When You Are Old

William Butler Yeats “When You Are Old” is a tribute to deeper love, an obvious interpretation of a poem that contains the word “love” five times in twelve lines. However, it is specifically the speaker’s personal analysis of what he imagines “love” to entail. It represents an elderly woman reminiscing of her younger days. A past lover whispers to her as she looks through a photo album. This is a very somber, regretful and resigned poem. It has a quiet, dreamlike feeling to it. And uses uncomplicated words that are nevertheless powerful. The theme is the painful one of deep love, which Yeats manipulates in an interesting manner. Instead of focusing upon the present or the past, as is usually the case with this often used theme, Yeats looks to the future, a future in which the two people in the poem are destined to be forever apart. Basically, Yeats is showing that as the woman gets older, she is alone, but she does not have to be lonely. He is shows that thought she is old and she will always have her memories for companionship.“When you are old and grey and full of sleep and nodding by the fire” (1). Depicts the woman in her age, needing to nap more frequently and tend to get lazy. The poet is tries to emphasize the characteristics of elder women as they hit a certain age.…
