The book Where the Red Fern Grows is a book about a man who is getting out of work and as he is walking down the sidewalk he sees some dogs in a fight in the alley way. When he sees the dogs it reminds him of his past when he was a little boy and wanted a two dogs. The story starts with him on a farm. He really wants to get dogs but his family is too poor to pay for them. So he works for two years to earn the money needed for the dogs. He goes to his grandfather to ask about the dogs and his grandfather agrees to get them. So they start looking for places that sell dogs. Once they found one his grandfather ordered the two dogs and Billy went to pick them up. When he got the dogs he was so happy.
