WHICH ARE THE FACTORS THAT MOTIVATE ME IN MY JOB

To understand what motivates self in a job we need to understand motivation and different motivation types.
Motivation: Something that energizes, direct, and sustains behaviors and makes us to MOVE forward with zeal and energy.
Motivation can be intrinsic or extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation is when you want to do something and that comes from within self. Extrinsic motivation is when somebody else tries to make you do something.
Extrinsic Motivation Factors: These are factors external to the individual and unrelated to the
Task they are performing. Examples include money, good grades, and other rewards.
Intrinsic Motivation Factors: These factors are internal desires to perform a particular task, people do
Certain activities because it gives them pleasure, develop a particular skill.
Every individual looks into different things in a job which will classify them as extrinsically motivated or intrinsically motivated.

We will try to understand about the factors which will motivate us by using this instrument.
This instrument is meant to collect information about such factors. There is no right or wrong answer. Rank the 14 factors given below in terms of their priority to you in the job. Put 1 against the item that is most important to you while in a job. Put 2 against the second most important item and so on. Place 14 against the factor with lowest priority to you. Do not leave any item unanswered and use each number (1 to 14) only once.

Compare the scorings of 1 and 2. If scoring for 1 is less than 2 you are intrinsically motivated and if 2 is less than 1 you are extrinsically motivated.
This understanding of self will allow individual to express their needs in a transparent manner in appraisal meets, Job review, promotions etc.
Motivation is required to do all the jobs more effectively, efficiently and with result oriented. Organization tries its best and sees that, it motivates all the employees to do good work, and at the same time, Employees should also make efforts to motivate themselves intrinsically.
