To be able to have a better understanding of who was responsible for the first World War you first need to know causes that led to it and how it happened. WWI began in The Balkans on late July 1914 but there also are several reasons for it. Among these causes there were economic, territorial and political conflicts between the great European power in the 40 years leading them up to the war. Militarism also was a one of the reasons, this is the government believed that a country always should have strong and capable military that was prepared to defend or to promote national interests. The reason for this is that there might’ve been a conflict in the Balkans (where WWI started) but because the British joined the conflict it became a bloody battle, which directly caused a World War. Before the war began the British aims were unclear and there really wasn’t a reason for Britain to join, only if Russia or France joined because they had a treaty with each other. But the involvement of Britain was not calculated by the Germans, they thought it would’ve been quick and a relatively bloodless victory of the Germans. But there also was a probability that if Britain warned the Germans that if they invaded Belgium and France, that Germany would have thought it through and backed out. After the defeat The Russian advisors wanted a war to help increase the patriotic feeling of the military in some kind of easily and quick way. The Russians also weren’t politically strong so this war would been used to defuse the calls for democratization and independence for all kinds of nationalities. The Russians were allied with the Serbians but the World War could have easily been prevented if the Russians stayed out of it. They actually didn’t had a good reason except that they wanted a war to improve their militaries patriotic feeling. But because the Russians joined the war The Germans, and after that the French also were forced to join this war.
