A code of business ethics often focuses on social issues. It sometimes identifies the general principles about an organization's beliefs on matters such as mission, quality, privacy, or the environment. At Whirlpool their Code of Ethics affirms the company’s responsibilities, obligation and duties to serve the world where it does business. The Whirlpool Corporation traditions of ethical behavior begin in 1911, when it was founded and has been passed from generation to generation since that time. The Whirlpool Corporation strives to be known, trusted, and respected as one of the top corporations in the world. They have strict standards for conducting business and their Code of Ethics requires each employee to act responsibly and maintain the highest levels of personal, business, and legal conduct.
The Whirlpool Corporation is committed to the support efforts of helping people and individuals build a better world for themselves and others. By donating time and resources, the Whirlpool Corporation works to help people reach their full potential. By doing so, this also improves the quality of life for these individuals, their neighbors and the communities in which they live.
At Whirlpool Corporation, environmental responsibilities are taken seriously. Whirlpool is dedicated to following environmental laws and regulations. They continue to develop innovative products that minimize impact on the environment along with making consumers' lives easier. Whirlpool believes that if laws do not exist or are inadequate, they must establish and follow their own standards consistent with their commitment to being environmentally responsible.
