Whitaker: A Brief Story Of A Newborn Photographer
This newborn photographer was overjoyed to be taking little Whitaker Graham's picture, since he was as handsome as his name. His parents, Lance and Belle, named him Whitaker after his grandfather. The day of the shoot, handsome Whitaker was just 8 days old having been born on December 7th.

On the day of the shoot, I had the pleasure of meeting four-year-old Avery, who has been delighted to be a big sister to little Whitaker. While she wasn't interested in kissing her little brother for the camera, she snuggled close to him while he lay cozy in a wooden prop with a dark brown blanket.

As a newborn photographer, I'm partial to the shots that involve the family with their newborn. One can see the parents shine with love and pride, which is true of the shot with Lance, Belle, Avery and little Whitaker. It's a beaming family shot that I hope will grace a prominent place in their loving home.

They went with a vintage nautical with lots of navy and white. As a newborn photographer, I'm always considering where the parents might want to hang their photos. To match with the colors of the nursery, I chose one of Whitaker against white with no hat. He looks like he's floating on a cloud.

My favorite shot as Whitaker's newborn photographer had to be the one with him against the dark wood. The browns and creams are always great against a newborn's skin, and Whitaker looked like a handsome little man in it.

I love using the knit bonnet from Riley's Mom Makes Hats. Whitaker wore the dark gray hat while curled on a light gray background. While I shouldn't have favorites as a newborn photographer, I did adore him in this shot.

I'm happy that Lance and Belle chose me to be their newborn photographer, and I was honored to photograph their lovely

I decided to take pictures of my second niece for my triptych proposal assignment. My theme for this assignment was to demonstrate the different emotions that child would undertake at certain times of the day. All three pictures of her display an emotion from happy to moody, and you can see that picture # 1 her face is lightly exposed, brightened and contrasted compared to her body and background. Picuture #2 the foreground and face is exposed due to the background that is blackened out. Picture #3 it's the same as picture #1 and #2. I chose my theme to be happy to moody because i wanted my pictures to emphasize a…

When we look at a painting or a photograph in a gallery or a museum, we start wondering what its real meaning and what the artist wanted to tell us through his art. One of these photographs is called American Gothic Washington, D. C., shot by Gordon Parks in 1942. Gordon Parks was the first African-American photographer for Life and Vogue magazines and was a self-taught artist, and he shot this photo on his first day of work at the Farm Security Administration in Washington D.C.. This photo has been named after the famous 1930 painting by Grant Wood. The original painting was about a farmer and his daughter, both wearing a highly detailed, polished style from the Midwestern country.…

Finally, I choose Henry Ossawa Tanner, a famous black painter who grow-up around slavery. Tanner moved to Paris to study and started doing art there. I chose his first painting, The Banjo Lesson because it kind of reminded me of last week class. A father and son, sitting down playing with each other, learning how to play the Banjo, the father pasting down his knowledge to his son. Also, I don’t know why, but The Annunciation also reminds me of everything we learned from this class. From the Virgin Mary, the women clothes, gender rights, too much, much…

It was a cool and peaceful Tuesday in June, 1998 when I was born. I was born June 16, 1998 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD to an amazing and loving family. My dad Jeff worked the night shift at the Police Department and got home around 7 A.M. My mom Melissa had been up several times that night feeling well with minor contractions. So my parents decided to go to the hospital at around 8:30 A.M. I was a very quick and easy birth with no complications. I was born at 2:46 weighing 5lbs 11oz and 18 and a half inches tall. For the longest time I had no hair but I had the cutest brown eyes, according to my mom, Melissa. Because I was the first born baby and since I was a boy my Mom and Dad picked my name Ryan Michael Beck from…
