Jesus did not mix into the Jewish community very well as the people were ready to stone him after he revealed himself. this shows us that Jesus did claim to be god , but he did not say it in the clearest words words such as "I am god" but did we need him to say it that way, no we did not, that fact that Jesus refers to the father and him being one spells it out to us that he is say he is god." Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” “I am,” said Jesus." Mark 14:60-64 this is from Jesus' trial where he is being cross examined by the high priest. This is the closest you can get to Jesus saying that he is god. Jesus and god had a very powerful relationship with god, sometimes claiming to be one with god and other times referring to god a father, or "Abba"
The way that Jesus spoke to people was a good indication that him and god were one, god is meant to be the only person that can can forgive sins and jesus say to a man "Son, your sins are forgiven." This shows us that jesus believed he has the power to forgive people's sins when only god has the power to do so, to any Jew this would be a sign that jesus believes that he is god. Jesus did not fit into the world of Judaism because the Jewish people believed that Jesus was a false messiah. The Jewish people do not believe in the worship of a person in the form of an idol other reasons why Jewish people do not believe that Jesus was the messiah are Jews don't believe That Jesus is part of trinity of God, Jesus is the son of God, That Jesus was born from a virgin mother, or that Jesus was the promised Messiah. this is why Jesus was an out cast in Jewish society he was so publicly hated for claiming to be god that he was crucified on the cross.

Christ started out as exalted. He was God from the beginning, but in-spite of this fact Jesus choose to humble himself. In this way of looking at it, we see Christ as exalted, then He is humiliated. Finally we see that He is exalted again. It seems that He was even exalted higher then He ever was. In this exaltation, everyone will declare Him to be Jesus Christ the Lord.…

It was especially hard for the Jews to fit in to a Christian society. Jews do not share the Christian belief that Jesus is the Son of God. Because of this belief they were viewed as outcasts in most Christian societies. Most Christians taught that the Jews were responsible for the death of Christ. However, we know now that Jesus was executed by the Roman government. The Romans viewed Jesus as a political thread to their rule.…

When reading the resource material and what the book Core Christianity had to say about Jesus’s claim to be God, I totally agree with it. I think I can find this easy because I already believe that Jesus is who he says he is fully God and fully man. I can understand how those that do not understand or have the heart to understand who Jesus was and even those that hate him for his claims. Jesus never denied his identity, tried to hide it, he never did anything in secret. The interesting part to me is that if Christ would have never claimed he was the Son of Man, the attributes he displayed showed that he was one with the father. Christ loves with unfailing love, holiness and goodness. As the reading said also followed these attributes with power, authority and omnipresence. Through the gospels Jesus identifies himself with “I AM”; this is something that the Jews could easily identify with deity. Even though this claim angered some of the Jews, Jesus would not hide the fact from them. In the article Deity of Christ, not one recognized religious leader- not Moses, Paul, Buddha, Mohammed, Confucius, etc.- none of these ever claimed to be God.…

Jesus’ deity is also plainly evident in the Bible. He Himself refers to His oneness with the Father, His authority to judge, and ability to forgive sins. Taken from an apostle’s point of view, John chapter 1 describes very well the God-nature of Jesus, being Himself pre-existent and of the same nature and substance as God. This chapter describes Jesus as the “Word”, translated from logos, existing both with God and as God; logos carried out creation, is the source of life, and is the light of the world. Jesus is also referred to as the Word of God in Revelation 19:13, where He is pictured returning to the world as a conquering general. In addition, Jesus’ ability to raise the dead, heal the sick and lame, and indeed His own resurrection points to His divinity.…

Starting with Christology one can start to examine the Gospels of John and Mark, where they agree and disagree. Jesus’ proclamation of his Deity resulted in skepticism as seen in John 5:18, “calling God his own Father, thereby making himself equal to God. Jesus said to them, ‘Very truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise”. Jesus tries to explain that even though He claims to have God as his Father and Him being equal to God, He is doing what God is calling him to do. He is doing God’s will and spreading the word of God. Similarly in Mark 2:5, when “Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.’ Now some of the scribes were sitting there questioning and wondering, “Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Another instance of the inquiring and searching that a lot of people had towards Jesus’ teachings. Both John and Mark, depict the adversities He had to deal through his journey on Earth. A similar theme that is seen in both gospels is the way Jesus went about his ‘secret’ mission of spreading His divinity can be seen in Mark 5:40, “He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha come, and immediately the girl got up and began to walk about. At this they were overcome with amazement. He strictly ordered…
