The Kite Runner novel is a tragedy story of two boys growing up in Kabul Afghanistan in 1970s. Amir and Hassan who are portrayed as the boss and the servant from the Pashtun and the Hazara nationalities of Afghanistan. In reality they are two brothers from the same father, however this secret keeps hidden until later. Hassan the loyal Hazara servant of the house, who lives with his father Ali in a mud house built by Amir’s father Baba in his two story building house in Wazir Akbar Khan. Amir is a self-defend less boy, who has always got bullied by other kids of the neighborhood. The relationship between Amir and Hassan grows; however it’s more like a servant and a boss relationship until Hassan is being bullied by the kids of the neighborhood. He gets raped for defending his boss which in result, the relationship of the two comes to an end.
Hassan has always been a royal servant and a true friend who has always helped and safe guarded Amir in different situations. Hassan has suffered a lot for being a loyal servant to Amir by his people, the community and even by his boss Amir; however he never gave up or cheated and has kept his loyalty until the last minute of leaving from the house. On the other hand, Amir has always been jealous with Hassan and never treated him as a close friend.
The relationship of the two boys Amir and Hassan who were the Sultans of Kabul has come to an end after Hassan got raped by Assef, a famous bully of the neighborhood. Since Amir was grown up as a self-defend less kid, he couldn’t help Hassan and felt guilty for not doing anything for him. The guilt has developed as the time passed until Amir decided to kick Hassan and his father out of the house. After a few weeks of Hassan and his father’s departure, the Russians invaded Afghanistan and Amir left the country behind with his father Baba and escaped to Pakistan.
