Colin Kaepernick The starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, Colin Kaepernick, had a hard life to be able to get where he is. In Milwaukee on November 3, 1987 Colin Kaepernick was born to his mother, Heidi Russo, a 19 year old girl. Colins Kaepernicks dad soon left and never came back after he found out that Heidi was pregnant. While she was pregnant she thought all the time about giving the soon to be born baby up. When Colin was born Heidi was thinking about keeping the new baby. But after meeting the Kaepernick's who were introduced by her friends she decided to give the new baby up. When colin was four years old the Kaepernick's moved to Turlock a town/city in California. At the age of eight years old Colin began playing football and soon fell in love with the sport. In high school Colin was the main pitcher for his team throwing an almost 100mph ball every time, but Colin was determined to be a football player. At a young age Colin even wrote a letter saying that in the future he would play Pro football for the San Francisco 49ers. When college scouts came to look at the senior a lot of the major schools did not give him a scholarship for football because they thought that his arm was no longer strong and powerful enough for their team. Only at a football camp did the University of Nevada think that Colin would be able to get a scholarship. Needed to play safety for the team it wasn't until Kaepernick's fifth game he went in for the injured QB throwing for 384 yards and four touchdowns in just that game. Kaepernick setting many school record and many good plays. Kaepernick was also named the most valuable player.
