Further, Kullman attained her masters in management from the Kellogg School of Management, at the Northwestern University.
Ellen Kullman is married to Michael Kullman. They also have three children together.

She then joined the DuPont as a marketing manager for the company’s medical imaging business. Later, Ellen became the vice president of the company where she was responsible for the Dupont business platforms. She took four of the platforms. Notably, she led to the growth of the company in and outside the United States of America. Ellen Kullman was elected by the board of directors as the director and president of the company in 2008. In 2009, Ellen Kullman became the Chief Executive Officer (Khurana, 2013). Kullman became the nineteenth CEO and the first woman. According to Fortune magazine, Kullman is the fifteenth most powerful woman in the world. The list was stated in 2008. The following year, she was listed in the fifth position, as well as 2010. Moreover, Ellen was ranked 31st most powerful woman. Also, the Wall Street Journal rated her 8th position in 2008 under the “Women to Watch” column. Evidently, she has rated numerous times as an influential woman, including amongst the top 500 in the world. Initially, Ellen Kullman was the director of the General Motors when she held the position from 2004 to 2008 (Khurana, 2013). In 2006, she was elected as the Trustee of the Tufts University by the board of directors in 2006. Eventually, Kullman caught the attention of the DuPont Company where they named her director in 2009. Further, she was a member of the Executive Committee in 2001 to 2013, in the Business Council. In October 2015, Ellen Kullman announced her resignation from DuPont. The resignation follows a battle with the Trian Fund Management, and the activist investor Nelson Peltz (Sinha, 2011). According to Peltz, the company needs to cut on its costs and meet their targets financially. Her retired from the company has brought mixed feelings, especially with the stakeholders. Arguably, Kullman engineered the growth of the company and would still aid in the change of the company. All in all, Ellen Kullman has been in the company for at least 27 years with the majority as the CEO.
