One day has past and surprisingly Rob is still alive and fighting his way down. At last he reaches far enough down the mountain where he can contact base camp, his voice is really hard to understand but he starts yelling through the radio for help and Helen down at base camp immediately sends a team to go rescue him. They also get Rob’s wife on the radio and she tells him that their baby is a girl and that he can’t for him to meet her. Rob unable to speak due to exhaustion just lays there impatiently waiting for help to arrive. Another day has past and the storm is still blowing extremely hard, the team that was sent to rescue Rob has encountered the worst of the storm and contacts base camp to inform them that it is too dangerous to move on. They descend down the mountain leaving Rob up near the summit of the mountain. Helen informs Rob that the rescue team is not able to reach Rob and that he is going to have to wait another night, Rob asks to put his wife on the radio and he tells her that he is sorry that he will not be able to meet their daughter. Finally, Rob sadly dies at the spot and his body still lies there today. His whole team has made it down successfully except for Doug and Rob himself.
The movie Everest shows us to never let go and not to underestimate how strong mother nature really is. Almost all the climbers in the film go through emotional stages throughout the movie but they never gave up. They gave it everything they had to make it to the top and Rob happily died knowing that all of his climbers excluding Doug has made it down to base camp 1. The movie showed teamwork and how important sticking together really is to be able to survive through any tragedy that ever comes their
