The work itself is different from the style of the day which had heavy brushwork involvement. This work by Georges Seurat was based on a technique called the “pointless”. This technique is based on the artist making his impression through a series of colored points instead of the use of the brushwork. The colors used in points, vertical and horizontal lines reflect various modes of gay, calm or sad.
