Ptolemy was a generous and a loving ruler. He was born on 62 BCE and he died 47 BCE. Ptolemy was married to Cleopatra VII, his older sister. He ruled during the Ptolemaic dynasty. During his ruling he went to war with Julius Caesar and his wife. He ruled over upper and lower egypt. Julius Caesar played an important role for Ancient Rome. Julius was a Roman statesmen who lead the Roman Republic to spread around and rise Ancient Rome. He did so many differences to the city of Rome when he became dictator, and most of the people loved his acts and his good leadership. Julius gave the people 5 different types of reforms, which the people were happy to have an considered him as a great leader. During Julius Caesar's lifetime, he had held just about every important title in the Roman Republic including consul tribune of the people, and including a high commander of the army. He suggested new laws the improve the city of Rome, most of them were approved by the Senate to make them into official laws. He reorganized the army…
What part does Brutus play in this? Brutus is a very loyal man, he was just more loyal to Rome. This was his downfall. When Brutus gave his speech he was very choppy and factual. The people believed him and called him the most noble man in Rome, but only for a while. After him was Mark Antony, Antony was persuasive and used more ethos than logos. This helped win the people’s hearts instead of their minds. Cassius, the deceitful leader of the conspirators,…
Caesar Augustus became the first emperor of the Roman Empire after his great-uncle and adopted son after Julius Caesar passed away. When Julius was murdered, Augustus discovered that he was Julius 's heir to the throne he was forced to battle the armies of both Cleopatra Vii and Marc Anthony. Who had their own plans for power following the death of Julius. Their alliance disintegrated and before Anthony and Cleopatra could thought of striking Rome, Augustus attacked with full forced to gain order and leadership in Rome. The battle of Actium in 31BC destroyed three quarters of the Egyptians fleet and led to both Cleopatra and Anthony killing them. Spartacus came from the…
Leaders are everywhere in our world. They constantly surround us and tell us what to do. Leaders have shaped our history and are constantly shaping our future. Some excellent examples of good leaders are Adolf Hitler and Julius Caesar. We might not agree with some of the policies that Hitler performed, however, we can conclude that his excellent leadership skills allowed him to effectively govern about 69 million citizens. Caesar’s quick and decisive personality granted Caesar the title, Dictator, of the Roman Empire. Under Caesar’s rule, the Roman Empire vastly expanded its borders through military annexations. But, with all things foretold, what designates someone the power to lead people? There are several factors that bring about a good leader. The three main factors incorporate communication, confidence, and commitment. Anybody that decides to encompass these factors, will not only be a good leader, but they will also be an effective and a revolutionary leader.…
Did Caesar help or harm the Roman Empire? Rome would have been better off without having Julius Caesar as a leader. During his time, Julius Caesar should have been considered a villain because he made the senate larger so that he could have more followers in politics, he only wanted to benefit himself and didn’t care about Rome’s outcome, and he beat his enemies be using brute force and cruelty.…
A dictionary definition of a leader is a guiding hand in a movement or group. My definition of a leader is someone who stands out amongst the rest and steps up to the task and helps the “followers” advance and strive to become a leader as well. The only way a leader can be effective is by leading by example. A prime example of this is Malala Yousafzai. She was shot in the face for trying to go to school. If she hadn’t gone to school she wouldn’t have been shot, but she also wouldn’t have a Nobel Peace prize. She is now using her story to speak for access to education for everyone. A leader is someone who leads by example and uses their skills to help others succeed.…
Explain how two selected, contrasting business organisations have responded to competitive pressures to develop their use of e-business. Care should be taken in the selection of these organisations so that learners can obtain information to attempt M2, for which they need to have built on the descriptions of competitive forces and linked these to the actions taken by organisations in response to competitive pressures.…
I believe Brutus is a cowardice, weak, and loving man who wants only the best for Rome. Brutus loves Rome so much that he believes the only way to keep the Empire alive and stable is that he must kill Caesar. Brutus is intellectual but only makes decisions that benefit him, making him seem greedy. When Brutus speaks to the crowd of Caesar’s death in act three scene two he states “Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I love Rome more. Had you rather Caesar were living and all die slaves, than that Caesar were dead, to live all free men ?”…
To be a great leader, one must be honorable and persistent. A leader is someone who has done something great and tremendous for his country. In the early years of the Roman Empire, most leaders were of great military rank and nobility. Julius Caesar was a great military figure with high nobility during his rule and in fact was a great leader for the country of Rome.…
Brutus is an honorable senator and his grandfather founded the republic, making him an extremely important and influential figure in Rome. Cassius attempts to use Brutus’ family’s reputation to persuade him, “Oh, you and I have heard our fathers say, there was a Brutus once that would have brooked th' eternal devil to keep his state in Rome as easily as a king” (I, ii 159-163). Someone in Brutus’ lineage set up the Roman republic and Cassius used this information to pressure Brutus to turn on his friend Caesar. Brutus, no doubt, feels obligated to uphold his family name and honor the Roman Republic. Also Cassius tries to flatter Brutus by saying, “And no man here but honors you, and every one doth wish you had but that opinion of yourself which every noble Roman bears of you” (II, i 92-95). Even other senators and high ranking officials Rome look up to and respect Brutus. He obviously has a high reputation and an honorable past, giving him power to convince and justify his actions to others. Brutus’ status and personality make him the perfect person to convince the…
When you think of a great leader you think of someone who will willingly stand up for their rights and the rights of others no matter the consequences. To me a great leader is someone who is kind, caring, and generous. Some people think being a great leader only takes bravery, but that’s not the case. Many people’s kindness makes them a great leader.…
To begin with, Brutus' lust for power is one of the many ways that make him to be the tragic hero. It all started when the conspirators and himself discussed/planned the assassination of Caesar. During the agreement and arrangement of the assassination, is when Brutus gains his power and gets what he wants. He then gets more involved with the killing of Caesar, making him feel more powerful. "Ay, every man away. Brutus shall lead, and we will grace his heels with the most boldest and best hearts of Rome." (iii, I, 119-121). Although Brutus can single handily take over the conspirator group and over rule Cassius, as a tragic hero he is to begin to lose power. This takes place throughout the falling action in act4 when Antony makes the angry mob turn against him. It will eventually lead up to his untimely death/downfall.…
Brutus has the best characteristics of a ruler for the Roman Empire. Brutus was best known by being "the noblest of Romans". Not just anybody qetz to be known by a certain nickname as Brutus and people call him that because Brutus deserves it. Brutus is a very humble man not like arrogant Caesar. He was a loyal friend but mostly loyal to his Empire. Brutus did what…
There are some people that will argue that social inequalities do exist because of race. Eitzen (2000) stated that the United States now faces serious new racial problems. These problems include the increasing isolation of minorities in central cities, growing minority unemployment, and other forms of economic dislocation. The American Prospect (2007) stated that poor African…
