Who Is Martin Luther King Informative Speech

Martin Luther King was one of the most world renowned civil rights activist. He not only wanted peace between his fellow black people, but in the whole nation, black and white. Good morning/afternoon Mrs Harding and class, today I am here to talk to you about Martin Luther King and how he is an example to all Christians. Martin Luther King was one of the key parts in the civil rights movement. He promoted peace between black and white Americans through his speech ‘I have a dream’.

Martin luther King was born on the 15th of January in 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. His parents names were Martin Luther King Sr and Alberta Williams King. He was educated at Boston University, Morehouse College, Crozer Theological Seminary. He had four children, two boys and two girls. Their names are Martin Luther King III, Yolanda King, Dexter Scott King and Bernice King. They are all still alive except for Yolanda King, who died in 2007. Martin luther King was assassinated on the 4th of April in 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Martin Luther King faced a lot of conflict including that he was arrested over twenty times, he also received many threatening phone calls. His house was bombed and set on fire. When Martin Luther King was signing one of his new books he was stabbed by and African-American lady.

He was told by his parents to not play with him anymore, this was one of Martin Luther King’s first encounters of racism. Another encounter of racism for Martin Luther King was when he was coming home on a bus from Dublin, Georgia, with his teacher, after he had won an oratory contest. Then he was disrespectful asked by the driver to move seats so a white person could sit there. He had to stand all the way back to Atlanta. He said, ‘That night will never leave my memory.
