Who Is Mr. Salinsky's Big Mistake
Mr. Salinsky walked across the lawn of the backyard hauling the bag of trash. When he got to the dumpster, he lifted the lid and stuffed the bag inside. While he was doing that the sprinkler cycled on and little jets of water sprayed him in the head. He slammed the lid shut and rushed back into the house, shaking the water from his hair. Time for a quick snack. Then he headed for the kitchen to make himself a bowl of Fruity-Os cereal. As he tipped the carton towards his bowl, he sloshed milk on the counter. Ignoring the mess he grabbed a spoon and shoveled several bites of cereal into his mouth. He glanced at the clock. Only forty more minutes until everyone got home. Curtis and Janet went to a different school then Rufus but he still walked them to school then walked himself to school. On his way to school a car followed him very slowly but Rufus kept walking. When he got to school it looked the same on the outside that it always had. Rufus pushed open the doors at Searingtown School and yelled “I’m back!” All of his friends ran over to hug him. He went down to the office to get a tour he thought he didn’t need because he remembered every single solitary thing about this place. While the tour was going on everything going on was a blur. He looked left, right and left again, admiring the changes the school had made. “Wow” he sighed. “Is there a problem Rufus?” the tour guide asked. Rufus answered, “When I was here the wall paint was all chipped, there were broken windows and holes in the walls.” “Oh ok, well that concludes our tour and this door on your right is your first period class.” The tour guide replied. Rufus walked in and sat at an available seat at the back of the class room. He opened his notebook and took notes even though he didn’t understand anything that was going on. By the time 5th period came around it was time for lunch he was starving. All of his friends called him over and asked him to sit with him. Momma didn’t make him a big lunch because they didn’t have that much food in the house and then needed to split it 3 different ways. Allison who used to have a big crush on Rufus sat right next to him. Mitchell and Charlie sat across from him and Christina, Alisha and Sammy sat around them. I need to see him now!” “Sir, sir please calm down and I will ask one of the nurses.” said the woman. She quickly left the desk and disappeared into the nurses lounge. All Shook Up

"Not again!" I protested when I heard Mom's news. "Where are we going this time?" We've moved six times in the twelve years since I was born. That's because my Dad's job is to set up offices for his company, and each time he finishes establishing a new one, we move. "California," said Mom. "I'm sorry we have to uproot you again." She opened a map and pointed out the town we'd be moving to, north of San Francisco. She truly sounded sorry, but I could see she was pleased, too, because she's from California. She'd always said Chicago was too noisy for her. For one thing, the elevated railway wasn't far from our apartment. Whenever the trains rumbled past, the chandelier in our living room swung to and fro. My stomach felt full of cold lead. You'd think I'd be used to moving, but I felt sick every time. Now I'd have to say good-bye once more to the friends and places I'd just come to feel comfortable with. Plus, Chicago was the most exciting place we'd lived. It had everything—great parks, libraries, museums, skating rinks, and playing fields. Only five blocks from home was the Youth Center, where I played volleyball or board games or just hung out joking around with friends. That day, after learning the news, I went straight to the Youth Center to find my friends. Their smiles turned into gloomy frowns when I said I'd be leaving in a few weeks. We grumbled about my bad luck. Finally, Eric said, "Moaning and groaning isn't going to change anything. Can anyone say something good about this move?" Sarah piped up, "Well, Megan…you'll be lying on a warm beach while we're still slogging through the snow." I pictured myself lazing on a stretch of white sand, a gentle blue sea rocking before me and palm trees rustling behind me. I could go for that. "Just think," added Josh, "no freezing rain or sub-zero temperatures." "No tornados. No blizzards," contributed Kayla. "Just lovely, sunny days." "Yeah. All you have to worry…

Instead of bracing the dumpster, Smart Guy jumped out of the way as the dumpster and Dummy fell on their sides. It didn't slam down, it more lumbered over as a small mountain of food scraps covered Dummy. Smart guy looked up and down the alley, praying he wouldn't see a horde of maniacs at either, or both ends. “God Dammit,” Dummy growled as he tried to stand up. His feet slipped on the greasy scraps as he went down on his ass. Smart Guy couldn't help but laugh as he watched this poor slob wallow in the mounds of stinking garbage. As Dummy crawled out far enough away to gain his footing, he stood up and kicked at the trash.…

(yawns and stretches out arms) Oh good morning everyone, didn’t know I had company (walks over to spotlight). You could never imagine how excited I am. Why you ask? Well… today is my very first soccer game this season and I’ve been waiting for this day for 5 whole months! But that’s okay because it’s going to be worth it (walks to kitchen). My coach told my team and I that we have to eat good the whole entire day, drink at least (8 fingers up) this many glasses of water and that we can’t do anything that will tire us out...just relax. So I made a schedule for what I’m going to do today, I’m warning you though it ain't gonna be fun. Since my game is not till 6:00pm and it is only 9:00 o’clock in the morning, I have 9 hours until my soccer game. So the first thing my schedule says to do is…(reads schedule) make a peanut butter sandwich and drink a glass of water. (grabs peanut butter, bread and a glass of water) this looks like a good breakfast… don’t you think? (eats breakfast) Yum that was good (rubbing stomach while licking lips). Okay lets see whats next on my schedule… (reads schedule) relax and drink lots and lots of water. Hmm maybe I should do some homework, but that might make me hurt my brain and I can’t afford that to happen, no way! I think i’ll just watch tv or maybe a movie and then eat lunch at 1:30 (gets three glasses of water, then turns on tv). Lets see what’s on… ‘Phineas and Ferb’, then ‘Shake It Up’, and then my favourite ‘Hannah Montana’ Movie! (makes small comments between and during each show/movie). Wow what a movie ! (repeatedly claps hands). Oh look at that (looks at watch) 1:30, right on time for lunch. Hmm turkey sub looks good to me (eats turkey sub). D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S delicious. Alright, now lets see what's next to do (reads schedule) take a nap. Oh yes, just what I…

Busybody thought everything was alright until something horrible happened. It was February 27th, no sign of Johnny Dorset. Mrs. Busybody could finally lie down and relax without being disturbed. Everything was starting to seem so peaceful, relaxing, and calm. She was slowly drifting off to sleep. Then, she heard someone yelling as loud as an elephant. Mrs. Busybody sat up to see the worst surprise ever. The terrible and mean Johnny Dorset has come back. She got ran around the house faster than a cheetah. Awe Man! , “I thought I would never see him again”, she said. “Lord, why me? Is this punishment for popping Johnny’s little, red ball or breaking all his sticks so he wouldn’t be able to play that Indian game”, she thought. Whichever one it was please forgive me. All of sudden, a thought struck her head. “I can leave for a few days”. Mrs. Busybody quickly ran to my dresser and pulled out a week’s worth of clothes. What about my two cats’? , she thought. “I’ll just leave them here”. “My cats are missing limbs and ears and they’re beaten up. If they weren’t in such poor condition, I would gladly them with me”. But, Johnny decided he wanted to throw medium sized rocks at them. Poor cats, they haven’t been the same since then. She finished getting her items together. Mrs. Busybody walked outside to the old, raggedy, blue car in the drive way. She started driving and the car started making funny noises. The dusty, slow car broke down in front of a big cabin. This is better than nothing. “At least I’m away from Johnny”, she said with a stupid grin on her…
