Who Is Still Life's Atmosphere In The Assassin

In assassin, the scene where before the Princess playing the instrument, there are a line of walking horse ride by characters across the plain. This scene is slow, which reminds me of a Chinese tradition ink painting, the sensation I have in this scene is like watching these people horsing across the grassland is very pleasure and have a sense of relaxing. In this scene, only a a couple second, start of with the focus on the small tree at the bottom right corner stay still, than the horsing people are appearing, horsing across and frame with the leaves showing at the bottom left. The whole scene is balanced with the tree amd the leaves, the whole scene frame good aesthetic. During this scene, I have the sensation of a layback feeling, and feel
relax, and there are element that can keep me focus. The director planned out this scene, and I unconsciously put my focus to this tree, and then the camera guide me subtly to the horsing people. My sensation is like watching a moving painting, which makes me stop thinking and explore the detail in this scene. Everything is well planned and the flow in this scene is excellent. On the other hand, there are another scene in The Assassin is mentionable and makes my “consciousness is temporarily suspended. For another scene in The Assassin, in about an hour of the filme, there are sequence of scene which are in dull blue colour. The first start off with the still of the foreset, surround by the fog, the scene is very dreamy and make my eyes cannot not take away this scene. There are no music for this scene, which make me sink into the scene and feel like its real because the audio is very realistic as well, and this kind of feeling is like watching beautiful nature in person, without any thoughts, just simply enjoy the nature. This scene is successful to present its beauty to the audience. Aside the storyline, this movie has excellent view to watch, simply sit back and relax.
For Still Life, the scene is less still than The Assassin.
The scene that make me hold my breath is the riding in the slum, The scene is noisy yet there is the aesthetic experience, the atmosphere of the scene is hot, sweaty and crowded, Compare to the sublime nature in The Assassin, Still Life’s aesthetic is more like looking into the daily of these people. The ship full of people and how the setting are old-looking, this still life of these Chinese formed another kind of beauty, the beauty construst with the people and setting itself. Back to The Assassin, the beauty is without human, the character in it are putting on these background, but the Still Life, the character themselves are part of the background as well. Both movies have scenes that makes people “wow”, the “wow” element, aesthetic experience, would makes audience thoughtless and focus on the screen and their consciousness is suspended and getting into the zone. The scene when the female protagonist is dancing with her soon to be ex-husband at the dock, behind there are other couple are dancing in the background, the concrete floor and the foggy air is forming a beautiful scene and all the focus is to the protagonist. The grey sky in the scene give me a sense of sentimental of the woman toward her ex-husband. There are no beautiful view of nature, but the way how the colour works makes me find the beauty in the concrete
land.
Having aesthetic film is like other time when having aesthetic experience, whether in a place with great view, to a delicate glass cup, enjoy the view and no need to think too much, that is the suspends of consciousness.
