In the story Romeo and Juliet, there were two lovers from two different families in which they loved each other so much that they ended up killing themselves over each other. Now there was somebody to blame, and that somebody is Friar. It is his fault because he didn't deliver the letter. Throughout this essay I will explain and give reasons why I think Friar was the main reason that caused many deaths in the end of the story.
The first reason why I think Friar is the one to blame is because he did not deliver the letter. Even though it was because of a disease it caused many casualties in the end. In the story when the two Friars were talking to each other the author states “I could not send it-here it is again-Nor get a messenger to bring to thee, So fearful were they of infection.” (Shakespeare 470). As you can see the extremely important letter was not delivered by Friar. This lead to Romeo not knowing Juliet was actually not dead, and that lead to him committing suicide. If they never had gotten married, none of this would have ever happened. Juliet would have just married Paris instead of faking her death for Romeo. Also Romeo wouldn't have cared if Juliet had died and just lived on his life instead of killing himself. “Then plainly know my heart's set on the fair daughter of rich Capulet.” (Shakespeare 410). This was a quote from which when Romeo had asked the Friar to marry him and Juliet. If this had never happened it would have saved many lives in this story.
