Who can be blamed for the tragedy that is Romeo and Juliet. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, a classic tragedy written by William Shakespeare. The main characters of this tragedy are Romeo, Benvolio, Capulet, Lady Capulet, Juliet, the Nurse to Juliet, Friar Lawrence, Tybalt, and Mercutio. A young lady, and a young man fall in love when they meet, but due to the families that they belong to, and because of a feud between their families, they are kept apart against their will. Romeo is the one to blame, the most for the deaths of himself and Juliet. While telling Friar Lawrence about Juliet the friar confronts him, because of the switch from Rosaline to Juliet. Romeo states, “with Rosaline, my ghostly father? No./ I have forgot that name and that name´s woe.” (2.3.45-46). In saying this Romeo proves that a young male might think he is in love but once a girl more beautiful than the last comes along, his heart are as his eyes. This all proves that Romeo is to blame for all of the chaos that came from his “love for Juliet”. Another person to take as much of the blame as Romeo is Friar Lawrence. Romeo Montague is to receive the most blame in this story because of his irrational thinking and the way he never thought anything through. The Friar Lawrence was the next to be blamed because, first of all he married the two and then he didn’t get the information about Juliet not actually being dead. Finally Balthasar, Balthasar is to be blamed because he did not give the correct information to Romeo, and then did not try to stop him from getting the poison from the Apothecary. These three men are the most responsible because they, and all the men in this tragedy, were never able to clearly communicate with each other or anyone
