(Body #1) One of the three reasons on why America is so great is how professional and experienced our military is. It’s actually the advanced military in the world. Here are some reasons why. Our nation spends an estimated 601 billion dollars, about 3.5 percent of its GPD (www.buisnessinsider.com). We also have more weapons than any other country. Some examples are the submarines which are …show more content…
72, our tanks, 8,848. Last but not least, we have 13,892 aircraft. We have all the advanced stealth technology than any other country (www.military1.com). The U.S. has the most foreign military bases than any other nation or empire in history (www.marketwatch.com). The united states have more aircraft carriers than France, japan, Italy, and India combined together, which are 19. Throughout all of this information given, you can see why the military is one of the reasons why America is seen as the leading country in the world. This also shows the development or the progress of America.
(Body #2) Another thing that makes America so great, is the huge diversity we have.
Back in the year 2000, we had about 282.2 million people in America, and 17 years later we increased up to 321.4 million people (infoplease.com). Part of what makes up that population are African Americans at 42 million, Mexicans 57 million, Chinese 3.79 million, Indians 3.18 million, and our many other races (pewresearch.org). Thanks to all of our diversity we can enjoy learning new things from each other such as religion, language, and culture. We can also value many things such as different types of food, art, and heritage (kaplanuniversity.edu). Our diversity provides its own special and irreplaceable contribution to our understanding of America today. Without its rich mixture of religions, races, and cultures, America wouldn’t be the nation it is today. Founded upon the basis of equality and freedom for all, America is a stage where intensely different cultures not only coexist peacefully but also thrive symbiotically and create a nation (www.worldandi.com). All of this information shows the rapid progress of America, and how it became a great …show more content…
nation.
(Body#3) America is known for the diversity and the equal rights that everyone has.
It actually leads by far in the diversity we have, America's diverse culture and population could not be achieved without its bill of rights (that applies to everyone) that first of all states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances"(www.billofrightsinstitute.org). But America wasn't so equal, as it is now, America used to be very sexist and racist or not fair in a lot of ways, For example, the women in this country were treated very unfairly for a long time, up until “March 22nd, 1972” (learning.blogs.nytimes.com). Women didn't really have a say in this country because they couldn't even vote! It wasn't till August 18th, 1920 till women could vote (ourdocuments.gov). Women and African Americans couldn't even work for their own money they had to either live off their Family's or in women's cases their husbands.Women weren't allowed to go to work and live on their own or make some money for themselves till the early 1960’s (wic.org). After all this, we can clearly see that America wasn't all that fair in the beginning. This information also shows the huge development of
America.
