The increasing of gun safety laws could prevent future gun violence such as school shootings.
This could lead to the establishment of safer states and better communities. Also, lower the chances of accidental gun deaths. However, if more laws were in place that would restrict people of their constitutional right. The second amendment states that a person cannot be refrained from their to bear arms. If that right is provoked, it gives the government more power over the people. The government should not have the right to restrict a person from obtaining a gun. If they could ban the second amendment then they could ban our
freedom. More laws should not be forced upon people but enforced. Children should learn the laws on gun safety. Majority of students do not know of gun safety laws and what they enforce. We should focus on giving our children the proper education on the laws. Gun providers and the government should enforce the laws as well. They should take the matter of background checks more seriously. The law that people under the age of 18 cannot purchase an item like a gun. We need to not only teach the laws but enforce them as well. In conclusion, gun safety laws should not be increased at all. That would cause problems because citizens are restricted to their rights. This provides the government more power than they already have over the people. The laws we currently have should be enforced properly if people want change. The enforcement of laws does not only require the government but parents as well. Background checks should play a big factor in the enforcement of gun safety as well. More laws shouldn’t be added but the knowledge and action of gun safety laws should be added.
