One of the methods were breathing holes. Inuits waited till the seals came up to breathe in the breathing hole and used probes which are long bone tools to kill it. They also used indicators that are made out of feathers and bones called idlak. They would stick the indicator in the breathing holes and the indicator would vibrate when the seal comes and they would kill it. Another method was when the seals come onto the ice the Inuits would follow the seals quietly and carefully and they would act like seals to fit in while hunting. They would also hunt other animals like whales. They would shoot the whales with a poison dart and wait for it to die and wash up on shore. Inuits also killed foxes and bears. They used stone traps to trap the animal and dogs were sometimes used to surround the bears until the hunters came. Birds were hunted by shooting spears into the flock. Inuits would catch fish by using a spear called leister and they also used rocks to block the stream so the fishes come towards the hunter. These were different type of ways the Inuit
