Why Basketball Is Important To Me

Basketball is a very important sport to me because you get to meet new people and build a team with them. I love playing because when you’re playing you can blow off steam and take your anger out on the court. If I’m angry or upset I play basketball because that’s where I can go and take all my anger out without hurting anyone. Basketball also builds up your confidence, when you make a shot your confidence boosts up and that’s when you start to play better. Basketball also teaches you life lessons such as believing in yourself, how not to be selfish, overcoming obstacles, the importance of discipline, respecting others, dealing with success and failure and learning to never give up. You have to stay strong no matter what even if people foul you, you cannot just get mad and fight them, you have to understand they are not doing it on purpose it is just the game of basketball. I love being apart of the basketball community because it takes away my stress. I fit into the basketball community through showing teamwork, practicing, and having a good mindset.
You cannot be negative because it will put your team down and then they won’t try hard. They will give up because if you are negative or if you’re not a team player then it will make them not want to play hard anymore. You need to be positive so your team will be positive, and so that they will be a good sport. If you aren’t positive it will put your team down they will not think that they are good enough. They will give up and not try anymore that’s why it is very important to be positive. Even if they make a mistake then you have to bring them up and say “it’s all good” or “you’ll get it next
