Why Can T I Be Truthful About Those Two Things
Joshua: No, why can’t I be truthful about those two things?

Patricia: Baby, most girls self esteem comes from their image and what others think, so, until you know she is mature enough to handle your earnest opinion, be careful.

Joshua: I think I understand, mommy. Do girls think ahead of boys?

Patricia: About something’s, yes!, but son, you are dealing with a different kind of girl when it comes to Sarah. She don’t study just to “make as” Sarah understands the power of knowing, she gets excited when she knows things most people her age don’t. She sees learning the way some boys see sports. The only difference is she wants others to learn (win) also, she is a competitive learner seeking to master what is set before her, and she wants you

Passing the thirteenth amendment enabled Abraham Lincoln to successfully save the Union and the republic. The primary tension regarding slavery grew from two different readings of the Constitution. The Confederacy believed slaves could be treated as property, whereas the Union believed in “‘we the people’, not we the white people” (347). Douglass explains how certain measures in the Constitution should have been disregarded after the slave trade was abolished.…

The gap is sometimes small, but over time slight advantages accumulate into big ones.” Girls are most likely to succeed in schools over boys. Many say this is because our educational system has become over feminized. Meaning, many teachers are more sympathetic to girls because they are quite and sit still for hours on end. Where many boys are asked to sit patiently for hours on end in classroom environments where boys struggle to…

From the early 1990’s, girls have started to outperform boys at most levels of the education system, for example in GCSE related in subjects or A-levels. As Madsen Pirie of the New Right Adam Smith Institute states that the modular courses and continuous education today favour the systematic approach of girls, compared to the previous old O level exam which favoured more towards boys. These stated changes are known to be the main major causes which changes gender differences in the educational system. However, as well as these internal factors, there are also external factors following this result, such as the impact on feminism and changes in the job industry which may have influenced girls into working harder resulting in more succession educationally wise.…

Brooks goes against females to focus on males, while Tannen goes against males to focus on females. Brooks claims that, “Some of the decline in male performance may be genetic. The information age rewards people who mature early… Girls may, on average, do better at these things” (Brooks 11). On the other hand, Tannen admits that, “Whether women or men are direct or indirect differs; what remains constant is that the women’s style is negatively evaluated- seen as lower in status than the men’s” (Tannen 9). Brooks is suggesting that females mature faster than males, which is why they progress more than males. Tannen is suggesting, on a different note, that women are looked at different because of the way they speak, whether it be direct or…

In “Mind over Muscle”, David Brooks supports the claim that education has been over feminized. Brooks tells that this world used to be a man’s world until the information age came along, in which education is the “gateway to success. And that means this is turning into a woman’s world, because women are better students than men” (Brooks 410). Brooks asks several questions trying to figure out ways for boys to succeed. He suggests that we need to take a look at the “innate differences between sexes” (Brooks 411). Brooks tells that the problem with females outdoing males could very well be from society but he also suggest that it could be from the basic differences between males…

“Girls rule and boys drool.” “Girls go to college to get more knowledge but boys go to Jupiter to get more stupider.” These are just a few of the popular phrases used by adolescent girls to flaunt their gender pride, but could they be true? Barbara Ehrenreich compares the work ethics and social habits of males and females in her article from Time magazine entitled “Guys Just Want to Have Fun.” According to Ehrenreich, girls are the achievers in today’s world while we boys sit back and play, causing her to conclude that it is the females that will one day rule the world. This may have some truths to it, but gender isn’t the issue. One doesn’t need to drowned himself in a pool of text books and obsessively strive for perfect grades. The social party habits and laid back attitude of people is not going to destroy their futures. There is nothing wrong with having a little fun on your way to a college education. The fact of the matter is good grades and test scores are nothing without a personality and communication skills to back them up. It comes down to this; a person, male or female, who sit at home secluded from society with their noses buried in books will have no advantage over someone who get average grades and enjoy a highly active social lifestyle.…

The reason into why males underachieve in education than females can be related to the “gender quake” such sociologist Wilkinson 1994 refers to “genderquake” whereby young women are increasingly striving for a fulfilling career this could be because women now have more opportunity. As recent figures (2005) have shown that double the number of women entering higher status careers such as medicine and law. Arnot (2004) found that pupils adopted private learning strategies such as asking teacher questions after lesson to improve their understanding .Evidence also shows that women are more likely to revise more effectively they do not leave it to last minute. However males poor examination performance is excused away they blame external factors such as quality of teaching or claim that the wrong question came up in the exam .And are more likely to give up whereas for poor examinations females are more likely to blame themselves and therefor are more motivated to do better next time. Research also shows that from the age of 6 girl read more books than boys and this tends to continue through their lives.Girls are 3 times more likely to borrow book form the public library (book marketing limited 2000)…
