Why Class Size Matters

exposed to a multi-cultural environment. This allows students form opinions by having appropriate knowledge of other cultures. By being exposed to other cultures, it allows students to be culturally diverse beyond the classroom and into the work environment. When students interact with students from other cultures it presents them with opportunity to be appreciative of other cultures. Teachers can use the interactions between the different cultures and create teachable moments with her students. In addition to lacking diversity, small classrooms will require more teachers. Some counties may not be adequately funded. It may not be in the counties budget to provide so many teachers for one classroom. This means that there will have to be funding taken away from other activities in order to provide each classroom with one teacher. There are already so many teacher layoffs that result in the upsizing of classrooms. Small classrooms simply cannot be put into the budget because of teacher layoffs.
