If anyone wanted to be a doctor, lawyer, scientist, etc they would need an advanced degree to learn about the job they want. “Construction workers, police officers, plumbers, retail salespeople and secretaries, among others, make significantly more with a degree than without one. Why? Education helps people do higher-skilled work, get jobs with better- paying companies or open their own businesses” (New York Times). An educated employee will have a more advanced skill set and be more valuable in their position. Companies are also more likely to hire educated employees with a degree to benefit their business. “Yes, college is worth it, and it’s not even close. Their studies only show that by attending college and earning a degree they made more money. It had an opposite effect for those who didn’t attend. “America’s 400 richest people list were college grads” (ProCon.org). As shown, getting a college degree can do more than just help you learn about the job you want. They turned a college degree into a job and became rich. That is earning a degree can make you more
