In the video, the serial bomber describes the all the explosives he used throughout his bombing spree. In total, Conditt used seven bombs, including the one he used to blow himself up as police surrounded him.
Strangely enough, the recorded message from Conditt did not include any hate-filled statements about terrorism. Therefore, many are wondering: why did he commit these horrid crimes? Police are arguing that the confession suggests this was an "outcry of a challenged man."
Brian Manley, the Austin Interim Police Chief, issued a statement …show more content…
It is about a 25-minute recording where he talks about what he has done. I would classify this as a confession,” Manley explained.
Manley went on to tell reporters that they found the cell phone in the car where Conditt killed himself as the SWAT team approached.
The chief explained that video consists of the Conditt describing the bombs “with a level of specificity” and in with some detail. In the video confession, Conditt also compared and contrasted the six bombs he used and “he identified what those differences were.”

The Texas governor also acknowledged the “overwhelming support” provided by the U.S. government.
Gov. Abbott also gave respect to the victims and reminded the community that without the work of the Austin Police, more people would have likely suffered because of Conditt’s explosives.
The governor also thanked Chief Manley for a job well-done and said, “Today, we proudly back the blue in Austin, Texas.”
