Every thing that happened could have been avoided if people just realized that we are the same. Just because one person is white one person is black, doesn't mean that we need to be treated different. We are all the same and have potential to do the same. You see, he wrote “Ballad of Birmingham” to show that tragic things happen just because the color of your skin.
Children went missing just because the way their skin looked. They were reported as missing,
but missing but we all know what really happened. They were either kidnapped and killed later or killed on the spot, but spot but no one wanted to own up to it. No one wanted to be the bigger person and bring to attention that they were the one you murdered this innocent person/child.
This poem seemed to use a lot of foreshadowing. It is said in the 6th stanza “but that smile was the last smile to come across her face.” this is showing that later on in the poem she will not be here. The author uses Irony really well, the little girl is told to go to the church because she would be safe there but the church ends up getting bombed.
He could have used anything any thing to show a tragic event, but event but he used something that isn’t isnt brought as much which is why this is a good poem.
