I believe Bernstein was aiming to see if those bruises were from before. As well, Bernstein was trying to see if anyone beaten her before or it was from the murderer.
What was the significance of the Gardner’s testimony identifying Rafshoon as the person whom he saw running away and how strong was his testimony in your opinion? Who do you think benefitted more from this-prosecution or defense?
I think it benefitted defense counsel more than prosecution because when Bernstein started to ask him more detailed oriented question, Gardner started to saying that he could not recall any of the details. Additionally, I don’t think Gardner’s testimony of Rafshoon as the person who run away would not be considered as a major evidence because he forgot most of the major details. Adam was already not in a mood of talking about his mom. Bernstein realized that Adam was already stated that there wasn’t any issue between his family and Rafshoon.
