Why Did I Take A 31 Bus To Work?
I always take the 31 bus to work now I wish I can finally pass my road test so I can start driving. Today I have been embarrassed and humiliated and if I can sue you guys I will sure do it. I dread to see this lady driving the bus and I have no choice but to take it to work when I see her. Today was the last straw for me since nobody will complain about her pig like behavior. I have witness this lady scream at elderly people and I have also heard complaints from her. She use to work on the 8 bus line and now I see why. She feels that she is obligated to have screaming matches at her customers because she is untouchable. Now if you touch her you’re looking at 7 years in prison so she knows her rights. I also know my rights as an MTA customer.
Today, I waited for the bus and when the bus came she opened the door. The bus was not pack and I stepped in thinking that anybody wasn’t going to get off. Regardless, I would have stepped to the side and paid to let the lady off. So as soon as I stepped on the bus all I could hear was the bus driver in an angry and on top of her lungs “LET THE PEOPLE OFF”. I felt as if I was a child who was being punished by her mother. Not even my mother carries on the way she did. So I stood back in shock and a lady passed me to get off the bus. I put my metro card in and I sat in the back as people

The lady was telling me how the bus driver yelled at people in the front of the bus “You ant going to get up?” While we were having our conversation I heard yelling again and I looked up and the bus driver was yelling at a man. The bus driver makes it hard for you to have a pleasant bus ride because of her rants. She sees me all the time she have her routes and she makes my ride an unpleasant one. I was having such a good day until I stepped foot on the bus. She makes my 30 dollar metro card useless now because I do not want to go back on the bus to

In Montgomery, Alabama, on December 1, 1955, things for African Americans changed. I got on the Cleveland Avenue bus to head home from work at a Montgomery department store. The bus was on its route and it began filling with more and more passengers as they kept going. The bus driver saw that there were four white men standing and he stopped the bus to get them a seat. There were four colored people in the seats, I being one of them, the bus driver asked us to move back a row and three of them agreed and got up, but I refused to get up out of her? seat. The bus driver then called the cops and had me arrested, and I was fined for violation…

The bus is crowded; it is hot outside and there is a discontent silence as a pungent smell diffuses. People plug their noses, hold their shirts up to their faces, grimace; anything to express displeasure and attempt to mitigate the smell of aged sweat and vomit mixed. The silence is suddenly interrupted by a lady who loudly declares to the friend sitting next to her that someone on the bus smells awful. The source of this smell is sitting near the front of the bus and is now silently staring down at his taped together shoes, hunched over as if to hide his face from view. He is wearing too much to be comfortable on this warm day, as if he is wearing the only set of clothing he owns. Salt stains line the collar of his shirt and the distinct…

Since I went to catholic school I always considered myself a nice person and assumed nothing bad would happen to me until the first time I got pulled over. One summer day I was driving to the gym after picking up my friend Justin. We just so happened to be talking about how one day I was going to be pulled over for no reason besides being black. Almost immediately after we stopped talking about it I saw police lights in my rear view. In the moment we were both scared but looking back on it we both laugh about the irony of the situation. The police officer came up to my car and asked for my license as my friend and I stayed as still as possible to not provoke the officer. In the back of my head I could hear my mother coaching me to say the right things to avoid trouble. The thing that made me know this was a racial problem was that he said I was pulled over for speeding in a school zone while all the cars ahead of me were going way faster than me. Plus I was going maybe 7 mph over the speed limit. I could tell the officer thought he made a mistake when he heard how properly my friend and I…
