Government was a big reason why Rome collapsed. They did not have any good leaders or rules that could keep a big city together. Military was probably the biggest reason why Rome collapsed.
The equipment was worn and too heavy for the soldiers to wear. The soldiers would tire quickly because they would overheat. They became frustrated with the heavy armor, and they refused to wear it when they went into battle. Also, the military leaders did not have any organized plans. With no strategy and little protection the military would lose most battles, including those where they were guarding their city from intruders. After more and more defeats, they finally fell.
Natural causes also played a part in the collapse of Rome. Many earthquakes and droughts played a big part in the fall. The droughts left the people without water for over 6 months. The droughts also destroyed their crops and ruined the irrigation, destroying much of their food supply. The earthquakes also contributed to the ruin of the irrigation, and reduced many buildings to rubble. The people were faced with many years of rebuilding. And then the natural disasters would happen again. Over time, and after repeated disasters, they could no longer rebuild.
Through all this time Rome has had a lot of things wrong with them. They all noticed this but they did not do anything to fix the problem. That's is why Rome
fell.
