Why Did Texas Fight In The Civil War
Abraham lincoln once stated “Those who deny freedom from others deserve it not from themselves” . Led by south Carolina six southern states left the union to form the confederate states of America. This alarmed sam Houston now the governor of texas, he believed that a civil war would be a tragedy for the nation and a disaster for the south one month later war broke out between the north and the south. Why did Texans fight in the civil war? Texans fought in the civil war because they wanted to protect their loved ones, get states rights, and to protect slavery.
