In June 1642, Parliament released the Nineteen Propositions, this fully divided the King and his supporters from Parliament and their supporters. It was the final straw because the demands with the propositions were so extreme that it would render the King useless. These demands included all political decisions must be passed through Parliament, all ministers must be approved by Parliament, and Parliament is to control the army. The most arduous demand being that Parliament control the marriage and educations of the King's children, as this demand would allow for Parliament to indoctrinate the King's children and shape them into what they want. There was no way that Charles were to agree to these demands, and Parliament knew it as well, thusly bringing conflict closer. This also culminated when in March of 1642, Parliament took control of the English army without the King's permission. This escalated the conflict to a point of no return as now both sides were armed, and ready to fight. Parliament had the choice of diplomatic resolution and chose to fight. Parliament's milization and unreasonable demands were the final straw in the events that lead up to the war. All of these choices made by Parliament
