Why Did The Hindenburg Happen
On May 6, 1937 the Hindenburg was trying to dock at Naval Air Station in New Jersey. They weren't on time because of a big storm over the Atlantic Ocean and when they finally got to where they needed but there was a big storm there also. Something went terribly wrong. This paper will go over what happened and how the German think we were involved and how it might of happened and how it affected the world and government and they people.
Blimp travel was expanding everywhere and the leader in blimp travel was Germany. The best blimp of them all was the Hindenburg it made trips before it went to america and all of those went fine so no one thought that anything could go bad. After the hindenburg went up in flames most airship travel ended. At first germany thought the United States sabotaged the hindenburg but later on multiple thoughts about it happend but what the governments say after research is that there must of been a air leak and then the static in the air started a spark and it all bursted in flames. So after all of this government's stopped building airships and the era of the airships ended within 30 seconds.
It changed people's mind on ways to travel and make them wonder if they should travel because now instead of a couple days it would take longer since no one wanted to travel in the air ships because they were afraid and it was dangerous. Once people found out what happened some people wanted to go over the sea’s just as fast but don't want to go in the dangerous airships so they started looking for other ways like faster ships or something else that flies.
It changed people's social life on how fast people could go see their families and friends overseas. The rich were changed the most because they were the people riding in these and loved how fast it was and they didn't want to go back to riding ships that took a lot longer. It changed the poorer peoples life not directly but it changed their future because not airships won't come as common as they could of so it would of been cheap enough for the poor to use
