Why Did The Spanish American War
The reason they got into argument was because the cubans wanted some freedom. They sat and tried to talk it out but a ship called the maine sailed to cuba and exploded but the cubans were that it happen on the ship and the us said it was happened by a mine. The new york newspaper mixed up the story what happen to the maine ship. They made cuba look like they were responsible for it.

So everyone was down to go to war except our president at the time. Everyone was calling him a coward but finally he gave in and declared war on spain. We went to war Kettle Hill and cuba won her her freedom and spain lost out and the United States took Puerto Rico as an American territory. second war was on the pacific and the americans destroyed a spanish fleet

    In 1897, the President of the United States, William McKinley, was conflicted with declaring war on the country of Spain. At the time, the United States had significant interest in the country of Cuba. They had both genuine humanitarian concern over the continued Spanish misrule and economic interests.1 Although the American people wanted a war declaration, McKinley was looking for a more peaceful approach to liberate Cuba.
