It was also considered along with the Xbox part of the “family of entertainment” because the PS2 was able to play DVD, CD and videos. Furthemore, Play Station 2 released an online adaptation kit on 2002. Sony accounted for the oldest technologically advanced platform. In 2002, Xbox wanted to release the Xbox Live in Korea for several reasons, but mainly because almost 65 percent of Koreans owned a PCs in their homes and, the gaming market in Korea was estimated to have a revenue of $2.8. billion. | * The Wii has the highest market share (42.1%), but the XBox 360 is very close behind (41.1%), while the PS3 is a long way behind (13.9%). The XBox 360 has more hardcore gamers than the other consoles. Therefore, given its market share and suitable user base, the EPOC product should have a co-branding arrangement with Microsoft and develop the required software for the XBox 360. * The 'out-of-box' experience software will help people learn how to use the product, and showcase its abilities once they purchase it, leading to better perception amongst customers, and fewer returns. Therefore, the 'out-of-box' experience software should be included as part of the product. * The product should also include a development kit for PCs as the PC gaming market was large in size (20% of total console gaming market), and had hardcore gamers who would appreciate EPOC.…

There are few professional sports rivalries that compare to that of the Yankees and the Red Sox or the Flyers and the Penguins. Well since the year 2006 when Playstation 3 was released there has been a much heated rivalry between the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. Some factors that should be considered during the shopping process should be quality of online multiplayer, entertainment value, and most important to me was obtaining the most “bang for my buck.”…

Nintendo led the market in the globally lucrative video game retail industry. Nintendo 64 was released in 1996, and quickly became one of the most sought after products in the market. Sales continued to rise throughout 1997, yet in 1998 Nintendo faced a problem as some third-party game developers shifted their focus towards the Song Playstation. As Nintendo console sales began to wane, an even greater importance was placed on the market for Game Boys. Handheld games were becoming a very significant contributor to profits across U.S. and Canada. Comparatively, the handheld market in Canada was not as strong as the U.S. market. The size of the U.S. led to a more demographically balanced base of users spread apart over the country. This resulted in a larger support group of teens and adults in the U.S. Another factor that played into the situation was that Sony had a more aggressive marketing strategy across Canada, directly competing with Nintendo’s sales. However, Sony’s marketing efforts were significantly lighter in the U.S. The consequence of this was that Nintendo Canada had to allot a larger portion of their budget to focus on the marketing of consoles, rather than Game Boys.…
