Anti-semitism was one of the causes of the Holocaust. According to the website call to conscience “this question lies in the strong anti-Semitic tradition in Europe” ("The reasons for the Holocaust"). This shows that anti semitism had already been occurring before the Holocaust. The website also states “a racist-biological anti-Semitism was developed, where the Jews were perceived as a ‘deformity on the body politic” ("The reasons for the Holocaust"). as a result of this Jews were labeled genetically inferior. The present hate towards the Jews was partly responsible for the tragic events of the Holocaust. …show more content…
Germany’s loss of World War I fueled the motivation for the Holocaust.
During a lecture given by Todd Morgan he stated that the Germans blamed the Jews and that they believed in “proof of the ‘dark forces’ that had caused Germany to lose World War I” (Morgan 26 Feb. 2015. Lecture.)The Germans would obviously want to stop this so they would imprison the Jews. Further more, if you refer six million crucifixions one of the reasons why WWI was a cause of the Holocaust was “ the collapse of the German economy” ("Causes of the Holocaust"). Since Jewish people were strongly linked with the economy they were blamed for the depression which was actually caused by WWI. The loss of World War I is one of the many events that helped the Holocaust
happen.
Hitler’s rise in power was the primary source for the Holocaust. There is a quotation in the book “Night” by Elie Wiesel that states “I have more faith in Hitler than in anyone else. He alone has kept his promises.” (Wiesel Night.) Hitler’s promises were to exterminate all Semites, and since he had all of Germany’s power he was able to proceed with these promises. Also later on in the book it also describes “The red army was racing towards Buna...evacuation somewhere in deepest Germany” (Wiesel Night.) The information that can be extracted from this quote is that when hitler started to lose power he abused his remaining power to annihilate the Jews. In the website “Six Million Crucifixions” They said that Jews were “susceptible and receptive to the genocidal message of the Nazis” ("Causes of the Holocaust.”) Because hitler was the German government he could make government sponsored propaganda which made Jews look unworthy of freedom. Hitler’s power was the overall main cause of the Holocaust.
In conclusion there were many leading factors that caused the Holocaust. Discourage discrimination and be sure everyone is treated fairly so that an incident like the the Holocaust can be prevented. This way society can progress further in humanity.
