Why Did You Use The Second Day?
How much less water did you use the second day?: Well On the first day I i used my water regularly and used 925 litres, which is a surprisingly high amount in the small amount of time I recorded the water use. In a year or 365 days that would be approximately 337625 litres in a year which is a crazy amount and probably more than some countries use in a year. So on the second day I knew I had to step it up and figure out some realistic ways I could do every day whether it was to shower shorter or not keep the sink on while I brush my teeth, basically anything to help. I did that and on the second day I only ended up using an astounding 124 litres which is 801 litres less than I used the day before. If i used the same amount of water that day …show more content…
First for the showers is make water efficient showers. This would be depending on your hair length and such, it would choose a shower setting that is sufficient for your needs and it would be on timer so you don’t stand in there wasting water. This would help me because I have quite the issue of wasting water in the shower. The next technology is for brushing your teeth and a really cool one I was thinking of which I a not fully sure if it already exists is already wet toothpaste. The way that would work is when you put the toothpaste in your mouth it begins to dissolve and become wet. This would help me because I use quite a lot of water wetting my tooth paste. The next technology is for washing your hands and basically you upgrade a product like baby wipes to special for washing your hands and start making them the normal way of washing your hands by slowly taking out sinks and implementing these wet towelettes in bathrooms around the world. There is not much I think could be upgraded for a toilet besides trying to make it more water efficient like by using a barrell outside to collect rainwater and connect that to the toilet so the toilet does not waste as much fresh water. The last thing we can do is for washing your face and just like the washing your hands, make baby wipe like products to clean your face with, which I already know there is for cleaning your face from things like acne, but make this one dedicated just to washing your face. They should also be implicate to bathrooms around the world to bring up the notoriety of them and eventually making then the “norm” to wash your face

The porcelain throne, the pot, the pooper, the potty, the latrine, the toilet. That is something we don’t give much thought to, unless something is wrong with it. What about the shower or the sink? How often to do you go to your sink to get a glass of water and wonder “Am I drinking someone’s poo? Will it be clean today or will I get sick?” I know for myself, I rarely give this any thought at all and I can honestly say that I have never worried that my drinking water would be contaminated by feces. However, for many around the world, this is a constant concern. Many today either don’t have access to clean water or don’t have access to very much water at all. They openly defecate, as well as drink, cook, and bathe in contaminated water. This causes several life threatening diseases and illnesses. I will discuss the water and sanitation issues in under developed countries, as well as what is being done to improve these situations.…

Why not invest smart dollars conserving the fresh water already available? Of course, society must learn to change old habits: It should start conserving, quit calling water purified from sewer waste “toilet to tap,” which has been widely used by the media as well as politicians and has only a negative effect on the public’s perception of reclaimed water, and start investing in a system for saving rain water runoff. Although…

There is an ongoing debate on whether torture should be used and if it is ever “ok”. There are many different points of view and both sides have very clear, convincing arguments on whether torture should be used as a way to obtain information. One side says that torture is not necessary even in extreme cases. The other side it should be used if it mandatory. Although these sound like a compromise they do have a few conflicting ideas. Even though both essays are trying to sway the reader to one side or another, it is the reader’s choice on how he or she feels on torture.…

A significant statistic that altered my perception of world health were that over one billion people still lacked access to adequate sanitation. This spurred me into questioning why the numbers were so high. Health illnesses such as diarrhea and cholera resulted from a lack of adequate access to sanitation. These diseases were caused by several factors, including a lack of household level toilet facilities inadequate treatment of human excreta, poor hygiene practices and lack of access to safe drinking water. This knowledge led me to realise that individuals cannot just solve one of these risks factors. For example, ensuring the provision of safe drinking water will be improved but can be compromised through the various other pathogen transmissions such as toilet facilities, treatment of human waste and poor hygiene practices that may limit overall health outcomes. Through a critical evaluation of my chosen article, there is a need for an integrated approach that utilizes technology and addresses the various factors of disease transmission. Using this data and information that I’ve gathered, I can argue the importance of becoming an informed global citizen as I am aware and up-to-date with what’s happening in the world and simultaneously becoming an active stakeholder in global issues with wide-reaching…

So, whether it was with breakfast, lunch dinner, or even random times throughout the day. After that, I began to drink a bottle of water every night before I went to sleep and one when I woke up in the morning. Each morning, I would pack four bottles of water with me each day. Then I would make myself drink 1 every 2 or 3 hours. With the water aspect, I also came up with a work-out schedule for myself. I decided that I would go to the rec 3 times a week. Monday mornings at 7am, Wednesday afternoons at 4pm, and Friday evenings. I picked days when I had the freest time. Each day I went to the rec, it was for 1 hour. The second week, I started drinking a gallon of water each day on the…
