Why Did Zoe's Upbringings Differ From Each Other?
Three reasons how Zoe and Wil’s upbringings differ from each other is because Zoe always had an adult with her. Those adults were her momma's boyfriends, and they neglected her. Unfortunately, Wil didn’t have an adult because both of his parents had died. Another reason how Zoe and Wil’s upbringings differ from each other is because Wil had to raise himself at the age of 2 or 3. Zoe had to raise herself also, but not the way Wil had to. Wil had to learn how to feed himself, and what foods were right to eat. Learn how to be inconspicuous at times, and how to keep himself from danger. This is different from Zoe’s upbringing because Zoe had clothes to wear, and whatever food was in the house, she knew was safe to eat. She didn’t have to worry …show more content…
The reason why I think they had ruinous titudes towards humans is because of everything they had done to them. Zoe’s momma’s boyfriends had neglected her, and treated her wrong. Mr C’mere had been hateful toward humans because people tried to throw rocks at him, and kill him. Plus, he had been scared of humans. By the end of the book their attitudes change, and they warm up towards humans a word to describe that would be pleasant because Mr.C’mere is just warming up to humans but is not totally on board with letting any human touch or go near him. Same with Zoe she just starting to love people and not hate them. Zoe’s relationship with Mr. C’mere is different than Wil and Sister’s relationship. Zoe and Mr.C’mere relationship to me is just starting evolve because he just starting to let Zoe touch her. Zoe is Mr. C’mere is more of a friendly type of relationship. The reason I think it’s a friendly type relationship is because they hang out for a while with each other then after a while they go about their day. Just as friends do, you talk to them for a while then you go about your day. Wil and Sister’s relationship is more of a family relationship. The reason why I think Wil and Sister relationship is more a family relationship is because Wil treats her as if she was family. Taking care of her, giving the things that she needs. I think that is why he name the deer Sister, because a sister is part a family, and that’s why he treats her like a sister. To me, if you compare Zoe and Mr. C’mere’s relationship to Wil and Sister relationship I think Wil and Sister would have a stronger relationship. The reason I think that is because Wil hardly leaves Sister out of his sight. He cares for her as though that is her sister. Sister trust him more than anyone, because she knows he’ll take good care of her. Rather as for Zoe and Mr. C’mere, Mr. C’mere is just letting Zoe touch

While the environments that both boys grew up in were similar, there are key differences that influenced each Wes Moore into making different decisions later in their lives. The book begins with a discussion of their fathers; the author Wes Moore, although for a short time in his life, had a loving father who was involved and active. The other Wes Moore, however, had an alcoholic father who was absent his entire life, not bothering to get involved with his son. The second Wes Moore, unlike the author of this novel, never had a father figure and the only male role model he had was his elder brother who eventually dropped out of school to sell drugs. Both boys were also raised by their mothers but were raised in entirely different matters. Joy was a hardworking, strong and independent woman who had an education and grew up in a disciplined and structured environment. Joy was determined to provide the same for her three children, going as far as moving in with her parents and working multiple jobs to allow her children to go to private school instead of the failing public schools of the Bronx. Joy and Wes’ grandparents were strict and provided a stable household with high expectations and respect for rules and severe punishments for breaking those rules. For example, when Wes started to fail in school and did not improve his grades or his behavior his mother sent him to military school. Joy was a strict disciplinarian. Mary, the mother of the other Wes Moore, was not a strict disciplinarian and did not grow up in a stable environment. Mary’s mother died when she…

The United States of America was deemed The Great Republican Experiment due to the uniqueness of government and societal structure compared to other nations of the time. Like any scientific experiment there must be a certain level of trial and error before progress can be made. One of this nation’s greatest errors was the institution of slavery. It was a vile practice that dehumanized people and caused unwarranted pain and suffering to the enslaved. This error in our history is particularly difficult to forgive because of the number of people who defended slavery to the end.…

I must carry her giggling to her bath each night—blessedly, no distance in the one-story house—regardless of the cost to me.
