Money from illegal trade of wildlife threatens global security by human trafficking, organized crime, and most of all it supports terrorist group. Another human activity that is bringing the animals to extinction is poaching. Richard Smith, Founder of Aardvark Safaris said, “Last year in Kenya: 638 Illegal Elephant Tusks Found At Kenyan Port worth $1.2 million. Poachers have a short-sighted approach and they're only in it for themselves” (Smith). Trophy hunting is another problem. A recent example is Dr. Walter J. Palmer who paid $54,000 to murder a beloved lion called Cecil for sport. For all these reasons, mankind needs to get involved and stand up and fight for these animals.
People will argue against me saying that trophy hunting keeps the population down and it supports the local tourism industry for that country. They say it help the local people out of poverty. They also say that it makes jobs and keeps the community going. It also gives the government money as well to help the country. Ivory is also part of China and Japan culture and they feel they have the right to keep selling
